The sea at Clevelys was reasonably quiet today compared with the last few days.
A chilly wind & the waves seemed to be increasing in height so I made a quick departure.
I went to the cinema to watch The Hobbit:The Desolation of Smaug.
We went to see the first part while we were in NZ last Christmas after we had been round the Hobbit village so I didn't want to miss the next episode. I must say it was a very thrilling film & I enjoyed it immensely.
It started at 12.30pm so I took some sandwiches & ate them on the back row...quite cosy really. I like going to the pictures in the afternoon & certainly don't mind going on my own...my film going friend was busy today
There were four of us in the cinema this afternoon.....there can't be much profit in that!!
Three good things:
1. I had the sense to make a hotpot with pastry top before I went so tea in the oven when I got home.
2. A replacement heater in the office so I am warm again.
3. A physic moment with Lesley in the night re travel bags.
@quietpurplehaze You must go Hazel before it finishes...it was much brisker than the first one with not as much meandering about. I was on the edge of my seat. I thought I wouldn't be able to remember it but it does come back to you.
A simply splendid image of sea and sky, Pat. Beautiful colors and lines.
It sounds as though you had yourself a fine time on the back row of the theater...kind of cool to have the place practically to yourself. The previews I've seen of The Hobbit/Smaug look wonderful.
I think the PoV and composition are lovely in this shot. It sounds as if you had a perfect afternoon, I haven't been to the cinema in years and hardly ever during the day, I think I might be missing out, there is a movie called 'The railway man' that I'd quite like to see, perhaps on the next rainy day I might treat myself?
Great pov and wonderful stretch of sea to those clouds. We have seen first hobbit and you have just reminded me that part 2 on at cinema. Nothing like these films on the big screen.
I've heard it's very good even though it still sounds too geeky to me! Lovely photo - some of the Lancashire coastline pics I've seen recently have been crazy!
This is a lovely shot....heard there has been huge wave action across the seas!!!
Oh I am a movie buff too..and don't mind going on my own...but I do have a movie buddy also. Saw this film and enjoyed it also, but kind of liked the first one better. I think there was a bit more emphasis on characters in that one..enjoyable none the less. A fav for the capture BTW!
I had to look up to see where Clevelys is. A funny name when you are used to the word, Cleverlys. This is a super photo with the dark wharf and the perspective taking up a third of the shot! Well composed!
Absolutely super shot, Pat - and congrats on making the trending page!
The composition is perfect, I love the promise of blue sky behind the breaking clouds.
The sea looks cold - with the choppy waves.
This is a FAV for me!
How did I miss this yesterday, fantastic.. love the pink tinge in the sky.. I haven't seen any of the Tolkien Movies.. not good seeing as they have kiwi director and filmed here.. am I missing out of something?

That Hobbit Village I think you mention is my home town Matamata!
