Seashell by happypat

Seashell

Part of the mythic coast art work specially commissioned for the Wyre coastline from Clevelys to Fleetwood, this is the Seashell.
It is just one of the pieces of art work depicting the story of the Two Swallows.
The Seashell is made of stainless steel & weighs16.5 tonnes & stands 4 metres high.
It will be interesting to see this structure during a real wild sea....I wonder how long it will survive?

Three good things:
1. Today's film The Other Woman ......the critics slated it & only gave it two stars but everyone of us women in that cinema this afternoon absolutely loved it! A real women's film......very light but great fun!
2. The first swallows on the telephone line......late this year.
3. Duck update....all present & correct this morning.
How wonderful, must be great to see it. Beautiful piece of art.

Hurrah for the ducks. Not enough women film reviewers!! And I wonder how they've fixed this down - quite a challenge in the sea!

Love that

Unusual - stainless steel should be strong but I was wondering how much of the sculpture is visible at high tide.

How interesting. I had to do a double take before I read the caption to figure out the scale of the shell.

A very interesting sculpture - a bit different to @julzmaioro 's shot of a seashell at the beach! Looking forward to another photo of it when the sea is really rough.

This is quite startling to see in an ocean! I wonder too, what the storms will do - make a terrific photo! I saw that film advertised just yesterday and thought I would like to go but I don't think John would come.

Gorgeous!

@maggiemae not really a mans film, though I think Harry might think it fun but he is not a film goer? Go on your own maggiemae, I often do , you can't talk in the cinema anyway!

I love the art Pat. Very futuristic and I think it is really good that the council are bringing art into the community. Nicely shot

Oh wow! I'd love to see this! What's to the left, Pat? I find the composition a bit disturbing, but interesting nonetheless ;)
