These two lovely cobs are living at the end of our road. They are really friendly and if you stop they come over for a talk and to have their noses scratched.
I went out early this morning & the fields were white with frost. Just a beautiful day if rather treacherous on the roads.
We have been to our brother in laws funeral today. A hard working man who lived the whole life on his farm, today he was buried in his orchard.
Three good things:
1. I had my hearing tested this morning, I knew I really needed hearing aids, the good thing is I am just eligible for the lighter weight invisible ones!
2. I am not going to be as irritating for everyone when I can actually hear what they say!
3. Meal out at the Italian tonight.
What strikes me in this image is the mark of man--the utility pole and wires, fence, plowing, and the trained and bred horses with garments--yet it is still a beautiful landscape shot as well.
@cejaanderson you are right Jane & what you can't see is the main A586 road just to the left which I cropped out. This is just as you turn off that road into our little cul de sac road. I also cropped out an ugly little corrugated iron shelter they can go in at night.
A lovely shot , I can see that these two would love their noses rubbed or better still a carrot to chew ! So pleased to see Man has taken care of his animals and provided them with coats and had a shed to go to - a little protection from the frosty weather ! Not a bad day for a funeral at least dry and a wintery sun !
I love this shot. Good to see the horses keeping warm. The frost was strong! You make me feel guilty. I should really have my hearing tested. My husband is waiting for hearing aides for both ears.
Lovely shot with the horses in their winter coats... nice light.. lovely that your BIL can be buried at home orchard.. hope the Hearing aids are a success...
wonderful light in this shot - Fav. Sorry to hear that you've been to your brother in laws funeral but how lovely for him to be buried in his orchard so that he can remain on the farm where he has spent his life!
I can see that purposeful walk that horses have when someone arrives at the fence! Super morning light and frosty look at the fields! Obviously your BIL is allowed to be buried there - we have to have special permission. Good to always know he is there!
What a beautiful frosty morning capture, wonderful light. Yes can see they are coming hopefully towards you. Sad that yu lost BIL, a wonderful resting place for him.
As an aside, over Christmas my dad was saying that his hearing aids entitle him to a disabled railcard (and my mum was grumbling that her Parkinson's doesn't...!).
Another instant fav, Pat. These chaps look snug in their cosy covers. You will soon be woken by the birds every morning ... the new hearing aids are wonderful.
@jewelsandbinoculars interesting to hear that....I might be down to London more often! I am really ready for them .......I had a great meet up in a pub in London in November & sorry to say I missed half the conversation because I couldn't hear & a sit was darkish I couldn't lip read too well.......I will do better next time! With three other dear 365ers too....I didn't let on! @boxplayer@judithg
they look great pat
