Such clever girls! by happypat

Such clever girls!

Our lovely girls reward us with these lovely brown eggs.
We have five hens & one cock & they are laying like mad at the moment.
We can hardly keep up especially as the B&B guy is only having porridge at the moment for his breakfast.

A trip to the accountants to sign papers is as far as we have been on this very cold windy day.
We have some slates blown off on one side of the roof but the builder is not answering his phone....we want to be first in the queue!

Three good things:
1. Don't want to speak to soon but no snow yet!
2. Cathy is coming to do my feet tonight!
3. Good news for a niece.
Those eggs look delicious, and most taste as such. Wonderful composition and capture with great focus and DOF.

@jtookey150 Yes it's blowing a gale here too Jean! Snow forecast overnight. We are a bit stressed about our dinner dance on Saturday night...it's up nearer the Pennines so more chance of deep snow.

January 28th, 2015
Love the well constructed shot with the blue jars in the background! Talking about snow, I just read a recipe for pancakes using snow! Two eggs and 2 cups of flour etc etc making a thick batter then go out and collect 1 & 1/2 cups of fresh snow and mix in! Got to be fresh snow! Ain't that interesting?
January 28th, 2015
@dide Thanks Dianne......we have just heard our roof man might have gone skiing!
January 28th, 2015
@beryl Yes they darent do anything else but lay us some decent eggs Beryl......I love it if the B&Bs ask for boiled eggs, quite surprised when they see the colour!

January 28th, 2015
Fav for me too - beautiful brown eggs. My girls have let me down a bit with colour but they lay two very different sizes and they are coming thick and fast despite the horrible weather. Given a load away today. Look gorgeous with your pottery.
January 28th, 2015

January 29th, 2015
Wow, such busy hens. Deb has to give eggs away to the neighbours when they can't keep up.
Had to smile at the slates loose. I know it isn't funny but it reminded me of my Mum once when we were kids. We had a terrific storm and a couple of roof slates were blown off. She ran down the street to see a builder who was fixing somebody else's roof and shouted "I've got a couple of slates missing". Coming from the North of England you will know that a statement like that usually means that she is a bit on the 'slow' side. ha ha. It took her a while to live that one down.
January 29th, 2015
great pov

I love this shot, Pat! This just so cozy and homey feeling. Makes me want to go in the kitchen and start cooking. Beautiful focus and wonderful colors! I'm a big fan of brown eggs...they just look so farm fresh and natural. I'm so envious of your steady supply of nest to table eggs.
