Our lovely girls reward us with these lovely brown eggs.
We have five hens & one cock & they are laying like mad at the moment.
We can hardly keep up especially as the B&B guy is only having porridge at the moment for his breakfast.
A trip to the accountants to sign papers is as far as we have been on this very cold windy day.
We have some slates blown off on one side of the roof but the builder is not answering his phone....we want to be first in the queue!
Three good things:
1. Don't want to speak to soon but no snow yet!
2. Cathy is coming to do my feet tonight!
3. Good news for a niece.
This is a wonderful shot, the focus on the eggs and the blue pottery in the background. You have some wonderfully brown eggs there Pat. I think you should frame this, it's fantastic. Fav
@lucypics Thank you very much Lucy....Harry has just had a look & said it's very blurry!! Little does he know it's supposed to be like that! There again I used to think that too! Copper Marans lay these very brown ones.
@jtookey150 Yes it's blowing a gale here too Jean! Snow forecast overnight. We are a bit stressed about our dinner dance on Saturday night...it's up nearer the Pennines so more chance of deep snow.
So much more flavoursome than the supermarket variety having grazed on lovely green grass and good food and of course being put safely to bed each evening by Harry ! Beautifully captured Pat
Love the well constructed shot with the blue jars in the background! Talking about snow, I just read a recipe for pancakes using snow! Two eggs and 2 cups of flour etc etc making a thick batter then go out and collect 1 & 1/2 cups of fresh snow and mix in! Got to be fresh snow! Ain't that interesting?
@beryl Yes they darent do anything else but lay us some decent eggs Beryl......I love it if the B&Bs ask for boiled eggs, quite surprised when they see the colour!

Sorry for your littke group reply but Wolf Hall will be starting in ten minutes, much obliged for your nice comments!
@maggiemae Well if there is snow tomorrow I will make pancakes maggimae! Just heard that the A6 between Penrith & Carlilse is closed due to snow. Tony our postie relayed that info on FB, he is a virtual weatherman!
Fav for me too - beautiful brown eggs. My girls have let me down a bit with colour but they lay two very different sizes and they are coming thick and fast despite the horrible weather. Given a load away today. Look gorgeous with your pottery.
Wow, such busy hens. Deb has to give eggs away to the neighbours when they can't keep up.
Had to smile at the slates loose. I know it isn't funny but it reminded me of my Mum once when we were kids. We had a terrific storm and a couple of roof slates were blown off. She ran down the street to see a builder who was fixing somebody else's roof and shouted "I've got a couple of slates missing". Coming from the North of England you will know that a statement like that usually means that she is a bit on the 'slow' side. ha ha. It took her a while to live that one down.
A well known phrase round these parts Babs........how funny, bet the builders laughed! Less windy this morning so much better a,though snowy showers forecast.
I love this shot, Pat! This just so cozy and homey feeling. Makes me want to go in the kitchen and start cooking. Beautiful focus and wonderful colors! I'm a big fan of brown eggs...they just look so farm fresh and natural. I'm so envious of your steady supply of nest to table eggs.

Thanks very much....I think they might not be laying as many if it gets much colder!
