A simply beautiful day here today. You could feel Spring around the corner!
I went out to hand deliver a birthday card to our nephew (Harry of the hens for my long time followers, we think he is thirteen). I stopped off at a neighbour for an hour on the way & had a coffee.
This is one of Harrys dads fields in the late afternoon sun. I thought this hedge looked beUtiful glowing in the sun!
Three good things:
1. M&S Orange pancakes with my mug of coffee.
2. My new down & feather coat bought in the sale was amazingly warm & light....perfect for NY.
3. A chat to three more neighbours on my walk....good to get out on foot instead of the car!!
Beautiful natural colours, I was walking along our old roman road today and I can honestly say there is not a berry or bud in view, the farmers have well and truly pruned them bare. I suppose better to do it now than when the birds are nesting but can't ever remember not being able to take a photo of a rosehip in the winter. Your hedges look much healthier
@lucypics that's a shame Lucy.......if you only cut your hedges every alternate year you get more subsidy money. Lots of hedges cut here too so was nice to see this one in all its glory! Not sure what type of hedging it is but not your usual run of the mill hawthorn!
Beautiful scene and late sun light casting a gorgeous red on the bushes . The sun was bright here this afternoon -- it was lovely in the conservatory doing a bit of ironing - keeping to the minimum I am afraid !
Is that dogwood? It's a great colour. I love that 'We think he's 13' - there definitely comes a time when you don't buy cards with ages on! Lovely in the sun here today but freezing in the shade.
A beautiful scene, love the golden light. Thanks too for your helpful comments about Betty, She doesn't seem to be in pain and will eat a little scrambled and rice from my hand.
This is just beautiful, Pat! Perfect title for this image...the sunlight really seems to set that hedge on fire.
Sounds like you found the perfect coat on sale. When is your NYC trip scheduled?
@peggysirk we go from the 23rd March to the 29 th Peggy. Four days which of course won't be anywhere near long enough but will do for a start! I think I will be pretty tired after walking for four days!
@peggysirk Yes Peggy, we have just been discussing it today. We are tempted to book in advance instead of risking the kiosk in Times Square. We have heard that Matilda , Book of Morman & Kinky Boots are specially good. I thought it might not be too busy in March & might be worth leaving it but must admit would be nice to know definitely which we would see,
At least, hopefully, they have been properly pruned. Here the council sends out a machine which rips the tops off everything.
Sorry for group reply but have visitors so just checking in quickly........thank you all so much!
