Foggy sheep by happypat

Foggy sheep

Odd sort of day today......first I couldn't get my old faithful carpet sweeper mended. It used to belong to my mum & I loved it because it was very light weight & I used to zip round the rooms without getting the heavy Sebo out.
Second my foot slipped off the clutch as I was parking the car in Booths car park & it bumped a very large Land Cruisers bull bar making a dent in my bonnet & cracking the grill.
On the good side I found the little Statue of Liberty I had bought for Max & the tiles that were hanging off the barn roof I showed you last month have been used by our builder to repair a hole in our roof!

A foggy sheep having its lunch. I went to take this photo & got quite a start as the farmer was walking round his sheep & lambs & he appeared out of the gloom...you can see him on the left.

Three good things:
1. Making use of other people's redundant bits.
2. Left over raspberry sponge pudding so pizza & salad for first course.
3. The back door can be left open in this gorgeous weather.
Lovely pic. I thought that was a very large shaggy sheep behind for a moment there! Will go get my glasses. Sorry about your bump. Hope it doesn't cost much.

Good shot

I had the same thought as Alison! Nice atmospheric shot.

Doesn't it look bedraggled! The mound of hay looks better groomed!! What a day for you - so sorry about your sweeper. And your car. Glad you can still find three good things!
April 7th, 2015
Great image! I thought the pile of hay was part of the animal at first!
April 7th, 2015
I love this shot! The sheep and the pile of hay match up so well together. A fabulous composition, Pat. The farmer appearing out of the gloom adds a wonderful touch.
A marvelous three good things list despite the not so good list of things in your narrative. At least it doesn't sound as though there was damage to the Land Cruiser...it's hard to inflict damage on those vehicles.
April 7th, 2015
@peggysirk The insurance company asked me if I knew details of the Landcruiser...number plate etc but I said know, was true but I didn't tell them I knew who it belonged to ! They don't know & I don't want the to!
April 7th, 2015
Very atmospheric! I think you may have surprised the sheep! Bummer about the car and carpet sweeper.

A lovely shot -- the sheep and you eyeing one another !!A lovely addition in the farmer being in the background !
Sorry it has been a day of misfortunes today -- so maddening when it is your own fault in damaging your own car --I hope the repair bill will not be too severe !! and the lightweight carpet sweeper not working -- just hope there is no third misfortune !

fabulous capture... great composition and capture of the fog... fav
April 7th, 2015
The fog is perfect for scenes like this - a charmingly bucolic image. Fav. Right now it is foggy here too perhaps I should go looking for some sheep?
April 7th, 2015
The hay rack could pass for a larger very untidy sheep. Like this.

Beautiful textures and tones - like the shot! Last year, Ray baked into a parked car while he was using his car on ambulance car driving - he was mortified.
April 7th, 2015
thats a lot of lunch for this sweet looking sheep! Awful about your bump - I bet you wished it hadn't happened and you could go back several steps in the day to before it happened! I have an old and small carpet sweeper and its is very good! Is your raspberry sponge made out of jam or real fruit? Sounds so delicious!
April 7th, 2015
raspberry sponge sounds good and the sun is back
April 7th, 2015
@maggiemae Yes not a good day in some respects but I rang the insurance co when I got home eve bin before Harry had seen it so was all genned up on what to do. It's going into the garage for an estimate then they will repair it. We have no claims bonus so only excess to pay. Annoying though, I was a bit rushed & you pay the price! Raspberry sponge was proper fruit. My B&B likes stewed raspberries & blackberries for his breakfast in the morning so I used some of those in the pud.
April 7th, 2015
@fueast yes you can hardly tell the sheep from the hay!
April 7th, 2015
@gijsje @carolmw @chris17 thank you all for your comments.
April 7th, 2015
@bpaquette It was difficult Barbara! LOL re sheep! I didn't realise how alike they looked until afterwards! @kwind
April 7th, 2015
@judithg @beryl Thanks both...I was very cross with myself but never mind could have been lots worse! Harry didn't think it was so bad when he saw it so perhaps they will be able to tap the dent out & re spray. I shall have to research lightweight carpet sweepers....can't use the other every time. I had a rechargeable one at one time but it always ran out of charge before I had finished.
April 7th, 2015
I thought at first this was a wooly mammoth, by the shape of the hay stack behind! Oh yes I see him there, nicely framed in the fencing!
April 7th, 2015
@lynnz @snaphappi Fog is good sometimes! Thank you both.
April 7th, 2015
@barrowlane I agree they do look alike!
April 7th, 2015
@quietpurplehaze oh dear Hazel, poor Ray....not his vehicle is worse!
April 7th, 2015
@pinkpaintpot Thanks Linda....sun was lovely today!
April 7th, 2015
@busylady Thanks Judith...it does all look rather an odd shape, can't tell when one ends & the other starts!
April 7th, 2015
I too have a heavy Sebo, but aren't they just wonderful cleaners. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats so need a vacuum cleaner this good so have to put up with the weight. Shame about your car. So annoying. Hope it doesn't cost too much to fix. Love your shot. I noticed the farmer straight away. Nice addition to the scene.
April 7th, 2015
Very misty day. I wondered what was behind the sheep at first too. It looked like a woolly mammoth at first. ha ha.

Shame about the car, but it could have been worse and it is only a car, at least you are okay.
Had to smile at the "back door can be left open" our doors are just at the point where they are being left shut. Suddenly gone chilly since the clocks went back.
April 7th, 2015
i love how they are posing for you Pat.
nice atmosphere with the fog too
April 7th, 2015
Aw! This is such a sweet shot
April 8th, 2015
Quite the day. Nice shot though
April 8th, 2015
Lovely shot Pat. Great feeling of fog and damp. Whoops! Hope the car isn't going to cost too much. Is a Sebo better than a Dyson? My Dyson is feeling it's age so I need to change it.
April 8th, 2015
Lovely foggy shot Pat. I thought there were two sheep to with a larger one behind.
April 8th, 2015
well done, wonderful composition
April 8th, 2015
It looks like your weather is very similar to ours at the moment - foggy mornings but gloriously sunny afternoons.
April 8th, 2015
Lovely atmosphere
quite a day you had
April 8th, 2015
@thistle sebo is excellent Joyce but so heavy......I have Harry to do my heavy hoovering so thats good! The sebo has a stair attachment which has its own little engine thing. Harry went to the vet this morning & came back with a rechargeable G-Mex one! It's not as light as my old faithful but lighter than the Sebo! I will report!
April 8th, 2015
@shepherdmanswife Thank you for your lovely comment.......you are a sheep lover obviously!! A great life among the sheep, we had cows but at one time in our earlier married life had sheep also. Lambing was hard work between mil kings but very rewarding. We used to lamb them outside in those days too! Sebo is excellent I agree but heavy so do t want to use it every day hence the lighter one. Harry has bought a replacement so that's ok!
April 8th, 2015
Fabulous atmospheric shot.
What a day! Hope the damage to your car isn't astronomical!
April 8th, 2015
@kwiksilver we shall know tomorrow when I go for the estimate Gillian!
April 8th, 2015
How did I miss this one Pat.. great shot.. I can imagine getting a little shock when Farmer appears out of the fog.. Poor you and your car damage, ..
