Setting out

Our monthly walk today. We set off from Juilee Tower just above Abbeystead .......clouds looming & a really bad weather forecast.
It wasn't long before the rain came in & unfortunately the walk we had chosen was one not often used. We found ourselves on top of the fell among reeds & waterlog bogs with the rain tipping down! Completely lost we luckily came across a farm & they sent us back on track.

Three good things:
1. The weather though nasty & wet saved the day by being warm.
2. Our Lydia is on her way home!
3. Her postcard arrived today from Melbourne just before she did!

Getting lost makes it into an adventure. Also meeting new people asking the way! You are walking on a road here - not a main road but it is tar sealed which makes it an easy walk! Pity about the rain - the summer has been your usual English summer!
