Tim. Pat's portraits 1

This is Tim one of our decorators. I took the opportunity of asking him for a photo when he brought the tea mugs back in the house after lunch.
He is interested in motor bikes so I told him about @maggiemae & her husband John who is the great Burt Munro's son.
He was very interstested & said to tell you maggiemae that he has a 188 MMR Intruder. Fuel injected & nitro.
Hope you & John understand all that because I don't !!

I did think of making this black & white but wanted to show his blue beard. There are a few of them that change their beard colours for charity.

Three good things:
1. No one in for B&B tonight, a rare night off!
2. I have used the left over cream from the morning porridge to make a rice pudding.
3. Choice of rugby England versus Australia & Strictly Come Dancing. I will be bobbing about between the two!
Fascinating highlights on the beard

Hey, Pat, I'm so glad to see you have started and I really like your title - and that blue beard! I think it was good to post Tim's portrait in colour.

Wasn't there someone in history called Bluebeard? I passed your comments on to John who only remarked, you have cream on your porridge?! He doesn't know much about other bikes than the Indian. Hey its a good portrait - no shadows!

@rosiekind @digitalrn @snowy @quietpurplehaze @maggiemae
Thank you all for your kind comments......something not quite right about this photo but can't put my finger on it. Still first go so I will improve!

@gijsje Thank you Bep.

You had to show the beard colour! Maybe if he'd been looking at you or caught some expression from him that may have given a different look to your shot.

@jennywren yes could be but I think my heart wasn't in it Jen...I think I prefer street photography!

I don't think I've even seen a blue beard before. We watched the rugby and recorded Strictly, but as it turned out I think that was a mistake!

Lovely portrait. Are you going to do regular 'people' pictures now? I see you have started with one of my favourite subjects too, beards.

a very nice portrait. I like the way he is just looking calmly ahead. I think you should definitely keep going with this theme.

A great portrait Pat and I love the beard. I watched Strictly and kept dipping in and out of the Rugby as well. I gather Stuart Lancaster's job is on the line today!

I love Mr Bluebeard! You've got good light on him - I don't know what you're seeing that's wrong... Maybe sharpen up the focus on the eyes a bit - I think you'll probably have to use manual focus because of the glasses - of course then you run the risk of him getting bored and wandering off! Turns out you'd have been best off with Strictly!

@judithg Disaster re rugby.....will have to change our allegiance now to Ireland or Wales but my heart is with the All Blacks now...our second country. Yes I think it might be the glasses but I think it's because he isn't looking at me......looks like a passport photo!

@happypat it would be easier to support a home country if they weren't all so anti-English - might go for Georgia if they've got another game!

Great portrait ... that beard is great and had to be in colour! :)

@judithg Yes Georgia a good option!

Amazingly that "Blue Beard" suits him spectacularly, I think! Perhaps it looks better than the blue I've been seeing many women sporting! It's not for everyone, but it works well here! And a very nice portrait!
