Artist at work

A very interesting day today. Cathy, Lydia, who is home from uni for the weekend & I went to pick a bag each from Susie Talbot who owns The Little Leather Handbag company.

I am buying Cathy one for Christmas & she is buying me one.
Susie makes bespoke bags from tweed & leather with Liberty linings.
They are absolutely gorgeous & we had a hard job making our minds up.
Her husband Andy is an accomplished artist who paints very desirable paintings. He is much in demand & his paintings go for a high price.

He was painting two Highland cattle today, it was fascinating watching him!
I did ask if I could take photos but tried not to take a photo of the actual painting.

The studio accommodated both this talented couple beautifully, I did think how well suited they both were!
Andy is from a local farming family & his brother David has the farm some of you might remember from the robot millers I posted once.

I am posting a full view of the shows studio in my extras album.

Three good things:
1. Being able to choose everything I wanted in a bag.
2. A lovely lunch out & shop with Cathy & Lydia in Clitheroe.
3. We are having a night away tomorrow in Northumberland visiting my elderly uncle.
4. The B&B couple booked in tonight cancelled this morning so it means we can get away earlier.
Look forward to seeing the bag .. sounds fantastic.. what a very talented couple.. You have captured great concentration here..

Love the concentration. I can relate to the sense of release a cancel Latin can bring . Enjoy the early start.

A very talented chap and a great photo. I really wish I could paint. David is quite good, but I can't even draw stick men so there is no hope for me.

This is a fabulous portrait, Pat! You should send Andy a copy of this. It's a wonderful capture of an artist deep in his creative zone. Love it! And I'm certain I would love the piece he's working on...I have a thing for cows. ☺

Lovely to see a craftsman at work. I looked up The Little Leather Handbag company online and they look beautiful.

@dh Wait till you see mine Delena.......not the one I was going for but I love it. She had all sorts of different types & she does them however you want...lining etc all to order & they aren't dear. About £70 for an average bag which is cheap for a leather or tweed bag.

Great pic...he looks focused. And a treat to see an artist actually at work, and the time when the picture os being created.

The 4 good things sound good :)
