Clevelys getting ready for Christmas today.
The decorations are going up.
You know if I am in Clevelys I have been to the cinema...I never seem to go at any other time.
The Dressmaker today with Kate Winslet.
Very enjoyable it was too with quite a few unusual twists. We thought we had got to the end & then it all started off again. I would recommend it. The cinema was busy but most people were going to see The Hunger Games one which l know nothing about.
Three good things:
1. A brisk walk along the promenade, very invigorating!
2. A day of rest!
3. A few interesting films to come in the next few weeks.
Yes I would be giving the Hunger Games a swerve as well.. Dressmaker sounds good, my Sister went the other day and enjoyed it.. Lets hope they add the 'J' while the man is up the ladder..
@snaphappi Yes I think I would if I lived in a Southern Hemisphere country Maggie. I found it very strange when I came out to NZ for Christmas. We are geared up for cold here & it is nice but we have nothing else to lighten our long winter except Christmas! You have the beach to go to!! More Christmassy when it's cold & I missed all the festive lights in NZ. Too light to notice they were even on! Advantages both ways!
I can't believe Christmas is almost here. Your film sounds interesting but I haven't seen Lady in the van or Suffragette yet! I was supposed to be going with my daughter but we haven't found a convenient date and time yet!!! Do you think she would enjoy the dressmaker?
I just can not believe we are nearly into December -- The street decorations are up in Wellington ! and I have no oomph in spite of the fact I love all the sparkle and glitter surrounding the celebrations !
@beryl Yes how time flies Beryl! You Wong be into Chrustmas so much if you're not too well. Just lie back & take it easy this year.....let Chrustmas come to you! Hope Gary can cook Christmas dinner with instruction!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the film. Christmas in the snow is something I still want to see. Very hot here at the moment with still dust storms although we had 28 mm of rain last Friday. We are so thankful but still needs much more rain.
nice to hear your movie reviews Pat and to see Christmas preparations in your part of the world. We have raging bushfires here in South Australia and two people have lost their lives along with many houses and animals. Such a tragedy and we havnt even started Summer yet
As you know ours are all up and switched on. It always seems early to me but Cheltenham will be on as well. They always go on the weekend after my youngest son's birthday. I must take a picture of ours one night they are quite pretty. I feel a night photography walk coming on!!
Hi Pat have just been viewing all the shots I have missed, too many to comment on. Just to say that I so enjoy them and also interested to hear what books you have been reading so i can check them out. Think the hunger games will be somewhat gruesome.
