Winter trees by happypat

Winter trees

Funny how a small row of shrubby trees can look rather nice!

Back to our cinema afternoons & a trip to see The Danish Girl with Eddie Redmayne.
A very different film but we enjoyed it, made you think how life is so hard for some people.

A big clear out of clothes this morning all piled up in a heap on the bedroom floor. A trip to the charity shop tomorrow.

Three good things:
1. An amazing redesign of the newsagent shop in the village ready for the post office moving in there at the end of the month. So much space!
2. Beautiful earrings from Beirut.
3. Mince & mashed potato.....I love mince!!
Instant fav, I have been trying to catch a similar shot, as we have had sooo many lovely clouds, but been unsuccessful. This is lovely.

@jokristina Thanks Jo, funny how just a shot among many really does it!!

Beautiful capture, love tree shots!
January 5th, 2016
@happypat I think the shapes of the trees seem to fit the shapes of the clouds/light....or vice versa.

Lovely shot, nice sharpness of the branches against a lovely sky.

A neat shot. Must look out for that movie. We went and saw Suffrogets the other day. Excellent movie though a bit distubing. Very proud to see NZ on top of the list of giving woman the vote.

Love the way the tree in the middle looks like a monster waving his giant claws in the air. ........... or is that just me seeing that. :)

Love these marvelous and unique silhouettes. Such character in those bare trees. Well spotted, Pat!
I'm doing the same kind of clearing out you are. Working on the pantry today. Haven't had the courage to attack my closet yet. ☺

@julzmaioro wel, it was very different, I was impressed with how far Eddie Redmayne went in the movie, he is certainly a wonderful actor.

@swillinbillyflynn Yes I can see it too Billy......I can see him leaning back waving his arms!

@peggysirk News the time to do it...I had got to the stage when I had so many clothes I couldn't be bothered looking & just flung the same old ones on every morning, well with slight variation!
January 5th, 2016
@gijsje Yes I always admire your tree shots Bep.

Lovely tree silhouettes and an interesting sky. Neil will be making meatballs from mince tomorrow - but maybe that wouldn't count for you, Pat!!
January 5th, 2016
@quietpurplehaze Oh yes I love mince anyway...there is some left tonight so we'll have it with chips tomorrow!
January 5th, 2016
You have the focus on the trees done so well to see the tracery of the branches against that sky! One of my favourites is that American dish, Sloppy Joes" Really just mince over a toasted bun!

Great sky and silhouettes Pat

Ooh have you bought from Ruth? So should we go to The Danish Girl? Not depressing?
January 5th, 2016
Great shot! They almost look as if they have personalities!!!
It must be 'the big clear out' time of year! I've done it too and was really good in town today.....I bought nothing to wear!!!

Gorgeous! FAV.

Lee
Nice silhouette shot.

@judithg no not depressing just very unusual the way he slowly finds his women's persona. Eddie Redmayne alway surprises! I did see a woman walk out in the middle but generally were were all transfixed. Not too good a review funnily enough but we thought it well worth seeing.
January 5th, 2016
@judithg and yes three lovely pair of earrings for the girls.
January 5th, 2016
@sarah19 Well done Sallie, I am keeping well out of any shops!
January 5th, 2016
@maggiemae Never heard it called that but sounds delicious....mince would be great with a buttery toasted bun.

Lovely wintery scene and gorgeous silhouette of the trees. I haven't had mince and mashed potato for years, must put it on the list. Used to make it a lot when the kids were little.
January 5th, 2016
Beautiful. Looks like the branches are dancing with the sky.
January 6th, 2016
Very nice imagery against the sky!
January 6th, 2016
Looks like England somehow...reminds me of Wuthering Heights
January 6th, 2016
Can't wait to see that film myself! And I second Jane's Wuthering Heights comment!

In the right light everything can look good.
It's time I cleaned out my clothes too. Only problem is I need to then go shopping and I hate shopping.
January 6th, 2016
The light really enhances the image and makes a wonderful backdrop for the silhouetted trees.
January 6th, 2016
Wonderful rural winter shot Pat Not too long now before the sunshine in NZ
