In the blue of the night by happypat

In the blue of the night

Fabulous blue sky today which turned into a deep blue velvet evening.

I think it will freeze tonight.

Ginger says thank you for all the faves & lovely compliments yesterday, she is very stuck up today!

Three good things:
1. We went to see Revenant today. This film has quite a few Oscar nominations & I can see why. Amazing scenery & the film has some rather gory scenes particularly one concerning a dead horse but well worth watching. Only one disappointment was the usual indistinct speech of some of the actors especially the baddy.
2. A pheasant for tea.
3. A chat to a sister.
Nice 'cold blue' landscape! It froze here last night and think it will tonight too.

These two trees are the main partners in this photo! Beautifully outlined agains an evening sky! I expect the pheasant didn't arrive out of a hedge for you! fav

@judithg Well we actually went to see Brooklyn again as my friend was in Australia when it was on. We read on the website that it was the Senior film today but when we got there they were showing Martian & we didn't fancy that. Revenant was well worth seeing but I might not have bothered if it hadn't been in the news so to speak.

@happypat Well it's good to be up on the Oscar films. My favourite recently has been The Dressmaker but v little attention.

@judithg That was another film we enjoyed Judith but my favourites this year have been Brooklyn & The Bridge of Spies.

@maggiemae Sid brought us the pheasant maggiemae. The farmer lets him shoot for duck etc which we never allowed as we hate shooting. He called yesterday with this pheasant he'd shot.....incidently running over the edge of our lawn trying to avoid the postman.....anyway Harry took it & I put it in a pot before I went out to the cinema.

@newbank I was looking out for the film but it didn't come to our local cinema. I bought the book but was disappointed. Not well researched or well written.

@happypat i found the book disappointing. All a bit OTT in places. Not sure I liked the revengeful ending.

Stunning Pat. Hope you enjoyed your pheasant. We had a friend who kept dropping a brace off which was very kind. however I don't much enjoy all the preparation and luckily he has now moved away so I don't have the problem.
