We walked down to Lake Windermere before our breakfast, it was the best time of day & before the crowds arrived.
A little bit of misty fog to give an ethereal feel.
Three good things:
1. Wood burner all blacked & ready for the winter fires. I think tomorrow we might start lighting it, it's supposed to get colder.
2. Plane trails lit up by the evening sun leaving pink lines across the late afternoon sky.
3. A cheque promised by a lady who had forgotten her check book two weeks ago arrived by post.
So beautiful and tranquil -- as you say " before the crowds arrive !! " Yes I think its time to have some heating on now that the hour has changed and the days draw in !
Lovely - beautiful time of the year to be in the Lakes. Bit disappointed to hear there are still crowds. Mind you still busy in Cambridge but not this morning!
