Protesting by happypat

Protesting

About eight miles away from us they are exploring the land for gas extracted by the fracking method.

Of course this is hugely controversial & the protests have been massive.
Many people camping & living along this road, banners & protest signs plus stopping the wagons going onto the site by lying on the ground in front of them. Huge police presence & generally great upheaval for all local people who I think mostly agree with the protesters, well if it was on your doorstep you would wouldn't you?

After I had been to to my Rheumatology appointment I thought I would take a look & go home by a detour.
Pretty quiet today though!

Three good things:
1. X-rays & ultra sound booked for my sore wrists.
2. All things wrong with our electrics solved easily today. Son in law arrived just at the right moment!
3. Booked part of our min break to Scotland.
I admire folk who have the courage to lie down in front of vehicles. Hope you get some help for your sore wrists.

I don’t blame them for protesting - such a controversial thing when we all need fuel but want to protect the countryside. Painful wrists must make changing/making beds very difficult.

Looking quite peaceful here but I guess it could get a little heated... hope you can get some relief with your wrists..
Dianne and I saw Victoria and Abdul last night so a trip to Scotland sounds fantastic I hope you can get someone to carry your dining room furniture to the top of some Heather clad hill...

@julzmaioro Ha ha do you think I could! I haven't actually seen that film yet, my friend is still tied up with her new grandson & now has another daughter over from Australia. I might get time to go on my own on Wednesday perhaps.

@quietpurplehaze @dide yes they are very committed to their beliefs, I admire them too but not sure which side I am on to be honest. We need the fuel but at what cost? Renewables aren't going to fill all our requirements...so many people to provide for!

@happypat It was really good .. though at times Di and I were the only ones laughing ...

Yes, if it was on my doorstep I would protest too.
Hope there is a solution for your wrist problems.

Fracking is just one more thing in this world that is controversial. I'm not certain what the answer is.

I like how dedicated to a cause some people are!! Great shot.

Protesting does have results sometime! We need to be educated on how to save energy, not to create more! Its taken so long with your wrist problem!

Whatever side of the fence you sit on, one has to admire the longevity and dedication of the protesters

@maggiemae My wrist has been slightly better over the last month Maggie so fingers crossed!

Incredible. Not sure what the answer is!

We have the same protestors here against fracking.
Hope you can get your wrist problem sorted soon. Must be terribly painful

The energy situation is complex...no easy answers at present. But I believe the future will present some innovative clean alternatives.
You saw a Rheumatologist for wrist pain, Pat? Has s/he given you a diagnosis?

Fracking is a controversial subject to be sure. I hope they manage to sort our your painful wrists very soon.

Really don't know what to think about fracking. I see on tonight's news that it's been banned in Scotland

@carolmw Yes that will lift their spirits along this line! I don't know what to think either Carol, sometimes I'm against & then I get realistic & think where are we going to get fuel from, all the power stations are past it, we have no coal mines, windmills are pretty useless it's a worry for our children.

@peggysirk Not yet Peggy. I have to have X-rays & an ultra scan plus blood tests. I have a B&B chap who has been coming for a long time & he wrote a letter for me so they are jumping hoops to do the tests. It has improved in the last month strangely but it will be good to know exactly what the cause of my wrist pain is. You have arthritis don't you, rheumatoid, life must be difficult sometimes!
October 3rd, 2017
@happypat I do have RA, Pat. Well, actually it's more accurate to say I did have RA. It has, thankfully, been in remission for the past two years. I pray that your tests come back negative!!
October 3rd, 2017
@peggysirk thank goodness for that Peggy, you must be so relieved!
