Bolts of fabric. #market

Poulton Le Fylde is our nearest small town but strangely we never visit. Because our nearest town was Garstang where we used to live we have continued going there but I had occasion to visit Poulton this morning.
Market day & it was very busy so lots of photo ops!

This is one end of the square, I will show the other end tomorrow!

Three good things:
1. Finding a parking space! Booths have moved & so the main car park is owned by them & of course they allow 3 hours free parking. Vital for the town but poor Booths was empty, all shopping in the market!
2. Lovely big satsumas three for a pound!
3. A box of those Lindor truffles in the post box for Harry for minding Bramble & the hens for a few days.
Oh I bet there are some real treasures at the market! I love the fabrics!

I knew this would be yours Pat , with its lovely street market scene - this must be curtain materials as not may do dressmaking these days !

@beryl trying to think what it said on the sign, off cuts & end of roll but I think you're right curtain fabrics. This small town has a very nice square, I appreciated it today in all its market bustle!

I knew this could only be a picture by you. Lovely market view. Makes me want to visit one of the markets in our neighbourhood one of these days.

@gijsje I love it when poeople recognise my photos @beryl Thank you very much. I like markets all over especially the farnpmers markets in NZ on a Sunday morning! @julzmaioro @dide Warm waffles & syrup, fresh veg, homemade wine, eggs, cheese & home made craft, the one in Hamilton is particularly good. I used to love going there! I haven't been for a year or too now since family moved south ( the ones that used to take me there)

We have a twice weekly market in the town and a monthly farmer's market as well. I still love markets wherever they are. There is something special about shopping there. Great veg and a really good fishmonger. Enjoy the chocs!

Such a buzz at these markets. Lovely to browse or buy.
Good deal on Satsumas 😄

@thistle @sarah19 I'm hoping to go into Preston perhaps this week or next. I have trousers to take back to M&S & so hope to go & inspect the new indoor market that has moved outside under a Victorian canopy in specially built wooden huts. The old indoor market is going to be a cinema & leisure facilities.

@happypat will look forward to seeing that. I like that they seem to be restoring and refurbishing rather than demolishing

@sarah19 Have just had one if the satsumas, it was enormous & had a baby one too, never seen that in a satsuma!

February 19th, 2018
Such a welcoming colorful scene.

Obviously not expecting rain here! They have a big job to cope with selling! Sort of unknown here to see that! Must have plenty of custom!
February 19th, 2018
Looks like a market I'd love to visit!
February 19th, 2018

Great street scene.

Fun to watch the blond looking for what she wants
February 20th, 2018
Looks as though it could be a bit of a wet grey day for a market. I always feel sorry for market holders when the weather is bad.

Boo
thats the word i was looking for...bolt....thank you! We were talking about fabric today and I couldn't remember the english word
February 20th, 2018
Now you don't get bolts of fabric like that down here. Preston outdoor market used to be full of them though of course my mum only ever went to one one or two stalls and didn't really approve of the others (don't know why!) - she only ever shopped at one fish stall as well so she would have walked past with you!
