We went to Scorton today, thought we would have our lunch out but was surprised to find the village buzzing & full of visitors.
The annual Barrow's & Bikes Festival was in full swing. We thought we would have no chance if parking or getting a table but we were lucky.
Afterwards a ride round the Trough of Bowland.
Three good things:
1. There was a fire engine parked up in the village so William made a beeline for it of course. Luckily he was wearing his Morrinsville fire shirt so he had a good look & compaired fire engines.
2. The energy of slightly older but very sprightly clog dancers.
3. Beautiful cottages & gardens.
With rings on their fingers and bells on their -hats!. There would have been plenty of practice for these dancers to perform in public! Imagine all those heavy clogs landing at different times! Next stop, flamenco!
@maggiemae I was amazed how much stamina they had maggie! Not young as you can see but they did several dances & it was hot! Two of the lady weren't wearing the heavy clogs perhaps for safety.
Ooh I love a clog dance! And I do enjoy the fun of May Day celebrations. Looks like it will be a very warm and sunny weekend for them all this year too.
@julzmaioro Pretty similar I think Julz, William was talking with them a long time & we had moved along & met some friends so I actually forgot to ask him but he seemed to know all the bits & was answering questions on different bits so he must recognise the various stuff.
