No new photo today as I've been busy all day painting, cleaning & generally making the house next door ready for renting.
It's been a long day but I'm happy with it. Just need the outside wall in the bathroom re plastering & making it damp proof plus a new carpet in the sitting room.
This Farmhouse is our old home, we moved from here 19 years ago when we bought the farm we live in now. Of course we have now sold the land & buildings as we have retired.
I lived in this house for 36 years & the children were all brought up here. Harry's family farmed here for many years & it was his childhood home.
Strange to walk through the farm yard & see how the farm buildings have all become lovely houses. @sarah19 has stayed in this Farmhouse when I did B&B here for many years.
Three good things:
1. No more cleaning!
2. Water based paint that comes off with water.
3. Chocolate rewards!
Looks like a lovely home.. hope it's being well looked after .. because it can be a bit sad when it's not.. lots of family history here.. I to are living in FG family childhood home..

@julzmaioro Yes the people who bought it off us have shown me round, Antony called last year & he had a good look round too. Harry hasn't been in but he was more interested in the outside! There is a footpath through the yard so easy to keep in touch. The part of the farm that was the milking oarlour is actually fir sale at the moment, there's a thought to move back & live in our old milking place! The original five families have pretty much been there for all the years since we left, just two changing hands including this latest one.
They do a really good job converting these old barns to luxury apartments! You might do one on the milking sheds?? This house doesn't look big but it does look strong!
One of my very favourite places. EVERYTHING was simply delightful and your welcome and care for us with four young children - 11, 9, 7 and 3 - made our first B&B experience such a positive time. The children still remember your tour of the farm, including the guinea fowl, while Allan and I enjoyed tea and cookìes in the garden. And it was such a pretty house inside and out......but the people inside make the biggest impact.
I just love that we're still in touch and have been able to stay at your current home too. Very special 365 friend!!!💛💛💛💛💛💛
Lots of memories there for you Pat. Ant went back to his childhood home a few years ago and was shown round. The present owners were fascinated to hear stories of how the house had been in the past. I think they were more interested in Anthony's stories than he was in seeing the house!
@sarah19
Ah thank you Sallie, you are so lovely saying such kind words, I remember you, Allan & the 'B ' team so well, interesting to find out there actually ages when you first came. I know Susanagh was very small & all in pink T shirts, very modern of those boys to be in pink in those days! I did like the house inside but had mixed feelings about being there, a long hard life it seemed to be in those days & of course my MIL was there for pretty much all of the time so least said! It was difficult at times. It was you set me on the road to 365 so will always be grateful for that, so much to be thankful for & I would never have met so many people but for this project. I loved doing B&B in those days as I still do today, you are welcome anytime! 😘😘 XXXX
@maggiemae House was quite big maggie four bedrooms & now two in the attic, a house built in the sixteen hundreds so very old. I think the date over the front door said 1668 if I remember rightly.
@beryl many a memory Beryl but I would never want to go back! I had difficult times there so I was glad to move on! Loved the area though & we have many friends round there who we still see lots of.
Strangely enough some lovely memories but some awful ones too! There's a mystery! I never felt it my house so was quite happy to move!
