My brothers & sisters in law came to visit today.
I am the eldest of four, next comes Michael on the right, on the left is Peter & the absent one is my sister Margaret who lives in Norfolk.
Peter & his wife Jana always spend most of the winter in Spain. They are very keen caravaners so enjoy meeting up with friends in various locations on the continent.
At the last minute just before they left I remembered to get the camera out, very important as you get later in life!
We missed you Margaret!! 😢
The ‘B..x..t’ word was banned at the door!
Three good things:
1. My brother Michael brought the diary my mum wrote about her childhood & several letters written in 1883. I had read it before but was lovely to read again. Jack is very interested n family history so when he comes home for Christmas he will enjoy reading it.
2. I have decanted some of my 2018 damson gin....I am very please it tastes delicious! Enough for another two bottles!
3. Harry & I are loving the current series of I’m a Celebrity, not mind blowing stuff I know but it’s great light entertainment!
I can see the family likeness here! Agree - take as many photos as you can. I so often forget and curse myself! Envious about that gin! Do you take it with water, tonic, or ginger ale?
Lovely to get together with your 'Bro's'.. and yes take lots of photo's .. Diary's are so interesting to read.. I have some of my MOL and amazing was she use to write .. Liking the sound of that Gin ...
Great to have a photo of you and your brothers - and your mum’s diary - I wonder if you will share some snippets from it with us about her childhood as I’m sure it would be really interesting.
So lovely to have your brothers visit - I didn't realise you were one of four I also seem to forget to take photos until my visitors have gone .- My closest family is my cousin -she lives in mid Wales and my brother-in-law and wife ,living in N Wales - so we do not meet very often now ( as we all get older ! )
@gijsje It was Bep, we don’t live that far apart, Peter in Lake District & Michael eight or so miles away. The youngest Margaret we do t see too often, the last time when my nephew got married a couple of years ago.
I smile at this as I'm the oldest in my family but the smallest!!!
