Victims or shot of the day which ever way you look at it .....

We’ve been to Lytham today.
It’s a very nice town & although it’s only about three miles along the front from Blackpool it’s a different as chalk & cheese....the posh end of the Lancashire coast line.
Lunch out & a bit of a shop, I bought a grey beret in the sale. I’ve always loved berets since I was at school so I walked about a bit in the shop with it on looking in every mirror until I decided, , Harry liked it so I bought it.
Lovely spending the day with Brian & Lesley, it’s romping a long far too fast until they go home next Wednesday.

Three good things:
1. Smaller portions.
2. Sales.
3. One more day left for all that rich food in the fridge & then I can start a healthy eating plan!
I am that lady grabbing her husbands arm and looking away.

She really doesn't want to stop and linger infront of all those dead chooks/ducks / geese ... well caught Pat .. Sounds like a great day out ..

Yep, the poor things! That would be me...leaving the scene.

Talk about being 'strung up"! These were outside the shop? I can see a security camera there to take pictures of anyone who pinched a chook!

A proper "country " butcher !! with all the game hanging up for sale .. Reminds me of a butcher's shop in Ludlow Shrops . where we would by a brace of pheasants usually around Christmas / New year !

If they were strung up in Australia they would be covered with flies, the birds and rabbits not the people. Oh well I suppose the people would have a couple of flies attached to them too.

@beryl I agree Beryl, it was a fantastic butchers although strangely it was mostly fish inside! There is a strange clash of feelings when people see game birds & poultry hanging up that seems to distance itself from when it’s lying nicely prepared on a plate! Exactly the same in my eyes, if you eat meat in any form you have to accept the way it’s killed. These birds will have had a lovely life among the fields & hills but saying that we hate shooting & I cringe when I hear shots in the fields behind us. We had loads of bird life when we farmed here but the new owners do shoot here occasionally. That’s life or not as you choose to live it!

@maggiemae They were high up maggie, not sure why security cameras were there but more & more security cameras around now in towns, very handy for capturing wrong doings & they use them for tracking missing persons.....last sightings etc.

@brennieb

Had a closer look & think Prince Charles is moonlighting! Don’t you think the chap inside looks exactly like him?

'Shot' made me think of the other kind and we had brace of pheasant on Christmas Eve, and, as usual, all the shot (2 pieces) was on Neil's plate!
