No photo today so I’m posting this photo from our visit the the vets last Saturday.
I was particularly taken with these two whippets. Not the most attractive if dogs you might think but they were so quiet & gentle looking. Both rescue dogs & devoted to each other, when one was taken outside the other got noticeably stressed & both had to come to the vets even though only one ill.
The other sweet dog was a very young Labrador puppy which is our choice of dog.
Three good things:
1. We have been to see Rocketman today, well worth watching...an excellent film about Elton John...I recommend!
2. A chat & catch up with my sister.
3. I love seeing all the gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show....such stunning gardens!
A very big contrast in dogs.. one bouncing everywhere and the other being gentle and calm ... great to see they are rescue dogs doing well.. Can't wait for Rocketman to get here we will def be there ..
@phil_howcroft, Phil would love to see this photo - his dog Ruby is the same. Maybe you will get another labrador when you move? Nobody is looking this way so you would be safe taking this photo!
A lovely calm view of all waiting patiently . my poor little Alfie turns into a frightened quivering jelly when we visit the vets ! - Nothing will comfort him while he is there until he gets back to the safety of the car !
Lovely pups. We took ours to the vet today, but I did not have my camera with me. Your photo has convinced me that I need to start keeping it with me all the time again. Maybe I can find something interesting when he goes to the groomer.
@onewing Funnily enough he got a real shock when a very large chocolate Labrador passed the little window in his box, he gave the poor dog a massive hiss!
Some years ago I was staying with a friend and we were invited to eat one evening with her neighbours. They had a rescue whippet who 'scotched' herself on my knee and stayed there all evening. Wonderful to be so trusted by an unknown animal.
This is very interesting as Laura and her husband are in the process of adopting a greyhound (formerly a racer) and lots of challenges as he gets very distressed when they go out to work and he is left alone.
