Waiting for mum

There were quite a few of us standing around this poor little dog outside Booths today.
One of the staff said it had been there three hours, a bit of an exaggeration I think but it had certainly been there long enough for someone to give it water & start to think about ringing the police.
Just in time mum came rushing up, she had met a friend, gone for a coffee & forgotten she had brought the dog with her.
It was very pleased to see her!
I didn’t think myself it had been abandoned as it was well groomed & in good order but we were all glad to see them reunited...a bit lax on her part I thought as anyone could have taken it...she did look slightly embarrassed!

Three good things:
1. Two offers of houses to rent!
2. Just seen one of our flower arrangers at the agricultural show on TV. Together with her husband she has purchased at auction two letters written by Beatrice Potter.
3. Harry is minding the neighbours dog until Friday.....it’s quite a job getting her to come out of the house to start with....bribery & corruption is the answer!
I have to say I could not imagine ever leaving Jinks forgotten somewhere!

You can readily tell that this dog is loved and very well cared for. Hopefully Mum won't let this happen again.

She sounds easily distracted.. better to leave dog safely at home.. silly lady.. Harry has to go with a pocket of treats..🐶🐕

@huvesaker @julzmaioro Ha ha no bribery for the dog....Janet says if she won’t go outside he has to shout treats at her! She went out ok tonight so all looks well. She knows him well so it shouldn’t be a problem but there has been fun in the last!

@quietpurplehaze Oh nor me Hazel....she was rather flustered!

@essiesue I thought so too Sue...she looked like she had had a recent haircut....I think three hours was an exaggeration!

I was getting worried as I read your story. So pleased there was a happy ending. Poor little dog though being left all that time.

Oh poor dog being left all that time. I do feel sorry for dogs left outside shops as they look at everyone who comes out, hoping it's their person.

Some people forget they have brought the car......... but forgetting the dog!!! It's like forgetting one of the children.

What an useless irresponsible woman - so selfish leaving her dog while enjoying herself ! - how could she FORGET her dog !!! and a gorgeous little dog !

OMG I could never leave Finlay or George tied up outside a shop even for a few moments. I would be too scared that someone would take them! Poor little dog with such a thoughtless owner! How could she forget she had the dog with her!

@beryl @pamknowler I agree I would be worried the whole time in case it got nicked though I must say people do leave them tied up outside Booths all the time....fancy going fir a coffee though & forgetting. There is a perfectly lovely cafe on the high street which is dog friendly!

@mave @susiemc @busylady has @joansmor

It did keep looking up, took no notice of all of us hanging round making a fuss if it...no barking either! She was ecstatic to see mum when she turned up!

Bep
This sounds irresponsible...
June 3rd, 2019
Obviously not a dog person! I would be like @mave and @pamknowler - not wanting to go anywhere where you had to tie the dog up and not be able to watch it!
Thank goodness its a beautiful spaniel - if it was a manchester bull terrier or pitbull (heaven forbid!) it may be taken for dog fighting!

Awwww, poor doggy! Bet she felt terrible when she realised!
June 3rd, 2019
Aw poor dog, I hope it doesn't need therapy. A rather irresponsible dog owner.

Nice capture of this beautiful dog! It is a wonder that someone did not take her, around here they steal them out of people's yards sometimes.

Well I am glad to hear this pups owner finally came around. You hear so many sad stories of pups being abandoned. Good luck with the house

Poor little pup!!! At least she didn't forget all about it!!!
June 4th, 2019
Can't believe anyone would forget their lovely dog
