There were quite a few of us standing around this poor little dog outside Booths today.
One of the staff said it had been there three hours, a bit of an exaggeration I think but it had certainly been there long enough for someone to give it water & start to think about ringing the police.
Just in time mum came rushing up, she had met a friend, gone for a coffee & forgotten she had brought the dog with her.
It was very pleased to see her!
I didn’t think myself it had been abandoned as it was well groomed & in good order but we were all glad to see them reunited...a bit lax on her part I thought as anyone could have taken it...she did look slightly embarrassed!
Three good things:
1. Two offers of houses to rent!
2. Just seen one of our flower arrangers at the agricultural show on TV. Together with her husband she has purchased at auction two letters written by Beatrice Potter.
3. Harry is minding the neighbours dog until Friday.....it’s quite a job getting her to come out of the house to start with....bribery & corruption is the answer!
@huvesaker@julzmaioro Ha ha no bribery for the dog....Janet says if she won’t go outside he has to shout treats at her! She went out ok tonight so all looks well. She knows him well so it shouldn’t be a problem but there has been fun in the last!
What an useless irresponsible woman - so selfish leaving her dog while enjoying herself ! - how could she FORGET her dog !!! and a gorgeous little dog !
OMG I could never leave Finlay or George tied up outside a shop even for a few moments. I would be too scared that someone would take them! Poor little dog with such a thoughtless owner! How could she forget she had the dog with her!
@beryl@pamknowler I agree I would be worried the whole time in case it got nicked though I must say people do leave them tied up outside Booths all the time....fancy going fir a coffee though & forgetting. There is a perfectly lovely cafe on the high street which is dog friendly!
It did keep looking up, took no notice of all of us hanging round making a fuss if it...no barking either! She was ecstatic to see mum when she turned up!
Obviously not a dog person! I would be like @mave and @pamknowler - not wanting to go anywhere where you had to tie the dog up and not be able to watch it!
Thank goodness its a beautiful spaniel - if it was a manchester bull terrier or pitbull (heaven forbid!) it may be taken for dog fighting!
