Snail fest by happypat

Snail fest

It was raining really hard last night, the first really wet weather we’ve had in a while, proper wet paths.
I looked through the the kitchen window & couldn’t believe my eyes, so many snails gathering for a party....stuffing their faces on bird seed!
They were coming from all directions across the path, down the sides of plant pots, I felt sorry for the birds this morning eating their slimy left overs!
Not a sign of them this morning!

Three good things:
1. We’ve been to view a rental property today. Right in the centre of the square in Great Eccleston with lots of eating places around us...I may never cook another meal for the six months we’ll be living there.
2. A wonderful celebration in Portsmouth of the D-Day landings...brave brave men!
3. Some of the men stood centre stage in front of dignitaries from all over the world, Presidents, Royalty, Prime Ministers. Wearing medals almost weighing them down they stood for at least fifteen minutes...thank goodness none of them collapsed!
Little horrors!! 😀

@julzmaioro We are really looking forward to the rental...it’s really lovely, will show you when we move in! Not cheap but we decided not to slum it at our time if life!

Eeeew - so many horrible slimy snails! Well caught and good news about your onward moving plans. It sounds like it’s all coming together nicely.

Ugh! That gives me goosebumps. There’s not much I dislike more than snails and slugs. Brilliant capture though.

Ooh my !! what a gathering of the clans - so many in one place - just wonder where they slithered off to after the feast ! Sounds good news on the interim rental accommodation -- sounds as if you have had it all planned out re your meal planning ! ha !

I have never seen this many snails in one place! I know the D Day celebrations are so moving.

Wow! That's quite a party! I'm pleased they disappeared on their own and you didn't have to help them on their way!

@carolmw @suesmith @susiemc @huvesaker @lyndamcg @louannwarren @kwiksilver @gijsje

I have just been out to check if there are any out tonight & I can’t see one...a dry night tonight!
Sorry I’m having trouble keeping up sometimes so my good intentions of replying separately have gone out of the window!

That’s an awful lot of snails!
June 5th, 2019
Now where have they all gone? Back to their hidey-holes to make hundreds more baby snails!
I think you will enjoy this rental - a rest from garden work and lots of people watching!

I could send you some of ours. We get rain every few days.

WOW that is some snail party Pat :)
June 6th, 2019
Ugh! Don't like them, they eat on my plants. They've been coming out here and I really hate walking through the grass and stepping on them and hearing the crunch. Nothing to be done, can't see them.
June 6th, 2019
That's a huge gathering
June 6th, 2019

Unusual but fun capture!

I had to laugh at your story about the snails. Even Peter read it too! I can just imagine them charging down the paths and plant pots!
