Our daughter Cathy called into our new place yesterday. She had never been round the back into the very overgrown garden before. The previous owner had been a very keen gardener so among the tangle of nettles & brambles lovely shrubs keep appearing. She found this lovely peony & I love peonies so was delighted to have them in the kitchen. So glad she picked them!
In truth it still isn’t our house as the probate still hasn’t gone through so I suppose we are trespassing!
Three good things:
1. We have signed the tenancy agreement for our rental property so we have somewhere to move into at the end of the month.
2. I have cleaned my kitchen drawers out.
3. A cooker cleaner booked!! It’s the cooker hood that needs doing actually, the electric oven is rarely used so it’s not bad.
How wonderful to discover such beauties in your new garden ! and well done Cathy for rescuing them from the weed entanglement and rain !! ha ! They make your kitchen look so bright and cosy ! So there will be quite some work to do to get the garden to its former glory !! exciting to be able to put your own stamp on it whether you have someone in to do the initial work for you ! Things are on the move then Pat - glad you have the tenancy agreement signed for your temporary accommodation ! - nice to have things sorted out one by one -- and Pat -- I could do with your cooker cleaner !! I can not get down on my knees to do it ! Gary has done it in the past for me - perhaps one day again !!!!
@beryl I had a real struggle to find one that could do it before the end of June Beryl...they must all be flat out, no one is cleaning their own cookers!! He’s going to do the cooker expelair hood, the single oven & there has been some juice spilt on the bottom of the Aga oven which looks messy so he’s going to do that too. £65 so I reckon it’s hard earned money!i wouldn't clean anyone else’s oven for that! We are going to get someone in to sort the garden out...build a shed for the tractor & fill in three round overgrown flower beds in the lawn. The most important job in Harrys eyes!
They look very pretty, how nice of Cathy to pick them for you.
When we lived in married quarters during our RAF days we had to clean our cookers to the point of them looking brand new. Not a single mark had to be on them or we would get charged.
@phil_howcroft Just moving into the village a mile away Phil. First into a rental house for hopefully only six months while we do our new place up. These flowers are from our soon to be permanent home which unfortunately the sale has been delayed as the lady died mid sale so it’s now in probate!
Those are beautiful! What are they? Love the kitchen, I would love to sit in one of those chairs and crochet while warming up and have something baking in the oven. Maybe a mug of hot chocolate too.

. Love peonies but can't grow them here.. too humid and not cold enough winters.. fav
