What a day to be taking part in this ancient local sport.
These two women were competing at the Westmoreland Show in the pouring rain.
I don’t think I have seen women doing this sport before.
The competitors stand chest to chest with their arms round each other & their chins on each other’s shoulders. The aim is to get the other on the ground. Best of three wins!
I can’t imagine anything worse that grovelling about in a muddy field in front of spectators!
Three good things:
1. Positive feed back from all three viewers but one is very interested. More news tomorrow!
2. I had no housework to do today as house was still all tidy from yesterday.
3. The plastic bag order came today....great job BT. 😃
@julzmaioro v. We had our broadband hub changed & they asked for the old one back. I had to ring up for the plastic bag they forgot to send so that i could post it back. There was a rather long winded conversation to order this bag which I described briefly the other day...it arrived today!
@beryl I’m sure they do t think that Beryl but one of the other women was rather on the large side & her pants far too small, I cringed for her....they don’t seem to mind, they are young & it’s a traditional sport.
Wouldn't this be called "mud wrestling" which some ladies , weird they might be, actually love it!
I like it too when you have cleaned and tidied the house up for some reason and can sit back and rest for at least a week!
