Aftermath.

A photo taken the other day of the fields below us.
I actually think they look worse today as the water is more concentrated in one place.
Very high winds still &we have just heard Storm Dennis approaches at the weekend.

Three good things:
1. I was shocked at the amount of flooding as I drove off our hill on my way to Garstang today but no damage to houses or livestock.
2. I had a bit of a panic on last night as I suddenly realised we were landing in NZ a day later than we thought & the day before the actual wedding. I had to organise hire car, airport collection etc all over again.
3. A chocolate eclair each tonight!
My goodness it does look very wet. Yes I too have just heard that Storm Dennis is on it’s way ☹️.

Ciara must have been so wide spread. Oh my, changing all those reservations! Glad you figured it all out before you were standing at your destination waiting on your hire car.

So soggy and wet ! and still with flurries of snow and rain here today !! Glad you have sorted all your NZ visit sorted !

So much rain!! We've got off rather lightly so far, sheltered by the Cairngorm Mountains. Bitter bitter winds....just want to curl up and hibernate.
That mistake about arriving happens easily.....we have a similar story- Laura thought we were arriving Sunday when we were still in Dubai the first time we visited! Flight numbers the same every day not really helpful!!
Better now than later though!!!

We left our son stranded at the airport on arrival from America once, having messed up the dates. But somebody gave him their unwanted half of a train ticket to use! He said he thought maybe the house had caught fire or we had been killed in an accident. I felt very bad !

@quietpurplehaze Oh heck I’m sure you did Hazel....a nightmare but easily done. I am normally on the ball about booking flights but I did it in a hurry & forgot I had to add a day on for time zones. Will be ok but not ideal. It’s only the day I arrive that it affects me so I’m sure will survive, Harry sleeps well on the plane so he should be OK too.

@sarah19 Yes you’re right Sallie....flight numbers always the same. Glad you are home tucked up warm.

Well have a lovely trip Pat - and manageable jet lag!

It’s very wet and muddy looking. Luckily you can change your rental car bookings etc, but that extra day before the wedding would’ve been nice.
