Market Day in Garstang. by happypat

Market Day in Garstang.

Not such good weather for stall holders in this weather.

Pretty quiet....some of the stalls go to a lot of trouble setting them out, hardly worth the effort sometimes I feel.

Three good things:
1. Holiday haircut.....I feel so much tidier, hadn’t had it cut since before Christmas.
2. I popped round to a couple of houses & tuned their TVs in.....I’m not very technical at all but managed to work it out.
3. Splashing through the floods....not too deep.
Nice capture - I love the market cross and the clock tower. I hope you're not in one of the flooded areas. It's terrible watching it all on the news. I feel desperately sorry for folks who have not only been flooded, but who have just recovered from the recent floods. Terrible for them, really.

We live in a hill Isi....lots of flooded fields & roads but not in houses round here. Saying that the poor people were were buying ours last summer & pulled out eventually bought a house a few miles away & they had a flash flood right through their new house last weekend. ...have to move out for six months. @jamibann

The street lights are a great choice for heritage places! Its good that the stall holders do come because people would tend to say - oh, that stall is never there - shan't bother to come!

Not very good weather for stall holders Pat , I haven't been out ,but just popped to Aldi for a few items - I only had one egg in the house - so difficult to be without eggs ! So all spruced up with your hair cut for your hols - I cancelled my hairdresser this week - have it done per six weeks - but this time it had only got to look right - she seemed to have cur it too short - so shall phone her when I want her to come next !

@maggiemae It’s quite a quaint town...what you call a market town in the UK. The area you see round the market cross used to be fenced off to contain cattle & livestock for a weekly auction. This raid used to be two way traffic but went one way only a good few years ago....so much more traffic now, they could be ever manage cars & busses going both ways.

@beryl We love eggs....we counted up we need 18 eggs just for b&b alone next week. We miss our hens...you’re never without an egg when you have hens! My hair is a bit too short today but by
the time we set off it will be fine. Weather isn5 fir to go out in although I seem to have been out all day....tired tonight but a quiet weekend.

Great picture of the town. So typical of many in our area, but I'm sure it's unique!!

Your days sounds wonderful. I have to get my hair cut too short or I’m back at the hairdresser’s too soon. I know your friends are happy you can tune their televisions!

Beautiful capture of this quiet scene. I hate going round in thick crowds so that would have been fine for me.
