Crossing the field by happypat

Crossing the field

A different route for my walk today.
This is our nephews wheat field where there is a public footpath.
You cross over a style & follow this path climb a style at the far end & cross fields until it comes out near the hardware shop in the village.
A good route normally but Graham had been spreading lime on the brown field you can see in the distance & my shoes & trousers were covered in a white film of dust.
Had to put them in the washing machine but they seem to have washed OK.

Three good things:
1. A different feel to walking today...far more traffic on the main road sadly. I met two ladies obviously taking advantage of the new rule about meeting one friend. They were walking in a social distance manner two metres apart.
2. I took advantage of three benches on my travels & sat down on each one.
3. Estate Agents have been allowed to,open up today....they want to get the housing market moving...we do too!
He is certainly doing something right! The wheat is coming along nicely!
So good that they are allowing you to meet with people now - but keeping social distance. That is most wise.

Seeing crops grow is fascinating and humbling. How can such small seeds render such an enormous yield that can feed man and/or beast?
