May blossom

From my walk the other day. This is my usual route across the fields round to the Cartford Inn & toll bridge. Along the front of the blossom trees runs the River Wyre. The river rises in the Forest of Bowland & exits into the sea at Fleetwood. It’s 28 miles long & is tidal along our boundary inland to St Michaels on Wyre.

Three good things:
1. Three of us families have had a takeaway meal from The Cartford tonight. Delivered free in some amazing packaging it was such a treat. In different times we could have all sat together to eat it but there again they wouldn’t be doing a takeaway meal if things were different!
2. I got up early & was at our local garden centre at 8.05am this morning. Determined to beat the rush but there were loads in front of me. Got parked OK & grabbed what I needed & was home by 8.4am all done. Need to get the pots & troughs looking decent.
3. I have been gardening all afternoon....a job I hate with a vengeance but needs must. Have cut out loads if dead wood & filled the green bin.
It looks worse now than it did before!
This is a stunning landscape

Stunning.. what are the trees?.. You will be pleased when the plants have grown a bit more and haven't got the naked look..

Such a lovely country landscape - love to see all the hawthorn in flower under a wonderful sky ! So you have been to the garden centre - envious ( early enough for bedding plants here as we have had quite a severe ground frost this last week - it has caught the new shoots of some of the bushes in the garden - they are gone black ! Nice to have a take-away - I am sure you enjoyed it !

@julzmaioro @gijsje Yes Hawthorn trees & hedges...full of white blossom everywhere at the moment.

@beryl Yes I got loads of geraniums, lobelia & verbena. Just kept it simple ...no looking about, in & out fast! Just need to plant up all the tubs & troughs we have. They are still in the garage, I shan’t plant them until a warmer spell comes. Must say stuff was getting past its best...I usually like to buy them earlier before they get in full flower. Opened just in the nick of time I reckon!

@brennieb Haven’t posted tonight...had a vertigo episode while I was out walking today. Luckily Harry was with me but it’s been happening a few times lately but this was the worse one...had to lie on grass! Mortifying! Had it all year but It’s getting worse so doctors this week..... we were monitoring it...taking it easy tomorrow!

That's a bit of a worry, Pat - the vertigo! Something to do with the ears, it could be. Don't tell your Doctor or you might lose your driving licence!
This is a lovely wide landscape and so many blossom trees!

@maggiemae She knows already maggie, said it could be inner ear infection...we were waiting to see if anything due to raised BP but that’s down so will now move on...horrible feeling though!
