Our walk today took us along this 13 mile tributary of the a River Wyre.
Rising in Barnacre the River Calder was running fast & full & looking very brackish & brown as it travels down through the the fells to join the River Wyre at Garstang. At one point it runs under the Lancaster canal.
Just add we didn’t walk the whole length!!
Three good things:
1. Three visitors today at various times...Always glad to see people call in.
2. A large bunch of rhubarb freshly picked!
3. I opened my NZ chocolate kiwi I brought back from our visit there in March. Whittaker’s chocolate is very good!
Whittakers chocolate is the best.. I have had 3 bars in the fridge since before my op for some reason they are not tempting me.. hopefully I will get the taste of chocolate back.. looks like a great walk..
A nice place to be exploring and great that you are catching up with having visitors. Your chocolate kiwi wouldn’t last 4 days, let alone 4 months in this house!
Love the lush greenness of the land -shows youuhave had some rain lately .a lovely pathway and I love that river with its brackish water ANice place for a walk .
VML the array of varied trees...and still in full (fig) leaf.
VML chocolate too. We have our 'ration' every day, Lindt's 'Excellence à la Pointe de Fleur de Sel'. Unmissable!
