Like lots of families in Lancashire we took the opportunity to visit our families before Tuesday when we cannot visit anyone either in houses or gardens.
Strange rules as we can if so inclined go to the pub until 10pm or go to a restaurant but I presume only with our own bubble with whom we live.
I can see the worry of a second wave but think we all have to take responsibility of our own health...we have to learn to live with COVID until we have a vaccine. It’s a very fine balance between keeping the country from going bankrupt & the health of us all.
I don’t envy our politicians at this time.
I’m wondering if the scientists who seem to be advising everyone know exactly what they are doing.... they got it massively wrong during Foot & Mouth disease...I remember so well!
Jack enjoying an ice lolly!
Three good things:
1. I have no decisions to make & just do as I’m told!
2. Harry took his strimmer to Cathys & tidied up round the gate.
3. Cooler days coming & I can get my woolly cardigans & jumpers out!
I agree with you regarding the virus. We know what to do and we do it. We have a Covid free bubble of family and friends. When we venture out of that bubble we know exactly what to do to stay safe. Businesses are counting on us to figure this out, or many of them, I’m sure, will not survive.
Does seem strange thst bars and restaurants can still be open when you have to stay put.. we have a decision today if we move down a level.. and have gatherings of more thsn 10..🤞
@boxplayer Yes it is Ayla...we are quiet here it doesn’t seem real somehow, I think they lump all areas together & the boundaries don’t seem to make sense at all.
I do so agree regarding Covid 19 - I think the time has come for us to take our own decisions, but it is a real worry. As you'll realise, we're currently on the west coast of Scotland, our first trip away from home since March. We're thoroughly enjoying it, but it is still surreal to be surrounded by mask wearing staff in hotels and to always be wearing a mask ourselves. I love being in the hills where I don't have to think about it.
@julzmaioro I hope that works out fir you Julz but worry if there is no vaccine...how long can NZ last economically without tourists & if you let them in is it going to go wild in a country that has kept it so well at bay? A real worry to know what’s the best way...look at Sweden who just let it take its course....
@louannwarren Same here Lou Ann...we are in the country so,it’s far easier on us to do what we need to do...I might feel different if lived in a city & had to commute!
@susiemc Yes very frustrating but it won’t go away, thank goodness they have learnt so much about how to treat it better now....learning all the time...all power to our great medical staff!
@quietpurplehaze They are lovely aren’t they...when they added the extension they turned the hall doors round so they became a door to the new part of the house. It works well.
@jamibann Yes it does seem weird...sadly I feel I’m getting alarmingly used to wearing my mask. I used to look at more mask wearing inhabitants of our Asian wearing countries with surprise never thinking we would be doing the same one day!
How strange, you can't visit family but you can still go to the pub or restaurants. When our second lockdown came everything closed again. Our cinema is opening up again next week, fingers crossed.
Love this shot with the beautiful window and alongside Jack that full window to the ground! I guess the lockdown makes sense - business can go on as long as you keep in your bubble and don't sneeze on the menu!
Our numbers are going up again which is so frustrating because we were doing so well. I wonder if our politicians will tighten the rules? Love the heart on the wall!
Great depiction of isolation. Love the stained glass. Difficult time for so many. I'm lucky although on my own I have very supportive family and great neighbours.
Lovely relaxing moment you have captured. We are going through the worst of the second wave, though our govt. doesn't want to admit it. More deaths than in the first wave and most of the youngsters couldn't give a dime for the health of the older generation.
@sangwann Exactly the same here sadly....people are cramping at the bit, fed up staying in & doing as they are told....the young think it’s just a bit if flu I think but they could pass it on....
Not good for ones mental health either....It’s a great concern, we grumble that the government aren’t doing things right but it’s a complete new ball game...hard to know how to tackle it.
Love those doors..
I agree with your frustrations- the lock downs have caused so much financial ruin!
