Amid the jungle that is our garden these pretty flowers are peeping through.
I don’t know their name but have a feeling they are bulbs of some description.....perhaps someone will kindly put me right?
Three good things:
1. The second hand cooker we bought to put us on is working & has saved me cleaning the other horror...thank goodness it didn’t work!
2. The electrician fixed the light in the loo....no more groping about in the night!
3. Sadly the washing machine still not working but the appliance chap has answered my email already...hopefully an appointment very soon!
Oh & we have had the gas boiler serviced & he bought Harry’s log splitter, picking it up in the morning!
@casablanca@julzmaioro@carolmw That’s what they are,,,I knew Simone Wouk did know...I remember Reed as soon as I read it! Thank you! @busylady yes we are having awed burner again Judith but now we have moved from the farm & actually for the last few years we have bought all our wood ready cut & dried by the trailer load so no splitting!
They don't have the full body that a crocus has but I have not been able to identify them! Are you going to throw out the grubby old stove? I presume that is what a cooker is!
I am with @maggiemae -- These do not have the formation or leaves of the Autumn Crocus ! To me they look very much like pink Kaffir Lilies with more than one flower growing along the stem . I have the red Kaffir Lily in flower in the garden now -- I used to have a small clump of the pink variety as well but have disappeared !! Your good things suggest you have been very busy - nice to get thing in order asap !
You will find lots of new flowers as you clear your garden.
I wish I could have bought your log splitter, ours was in need of repair and in the end David made his own. It is a bit Heath Robinson but works well.
We buy our logs already cut but sometimes they are still huge and need further splitting.
Yes you’re right...just seen your replies...checked up Kaffir lily & there they are, thank you all. Sorry typing all to pot tonight. It’s been a long day!
