Fuchsias over the garden wall. by happypat

Fuchsias over the garden wall.

Just caught sight of these pretty fuchsias hanging over a wall this afternoon.

Winter still a bit off while these flowers are still blooming!

Three good things:
1. A nice long walk with Harry this afternoon. We stopped to talk to lots of people as we went...always the better part of the walk in my eyes!
2. Pork casserole cooking in the oven.
3. You can tell by the traffic on the roads that lockdown is on....people seem to be abiding by the rules although I think we are all much more relaxed about the whole thing this time round!
Hummingbird attractors! This year I waited too late to try to get some. But next spring, I will seek them out earlier. Your three good things are focusing on hope.

Lovely shot Pat. It's amazing how many flowers are still in bloom and so many trees a re clinging to their leaves much later than usual. At least it makes the winter shorter!!.. Hope you're warm and cosy in your new home.

Lovely fuschias and I like your story about the talk being more important than the walk.

@jyokota Yes hope is the thing in the world today I feel!!

A pretty image. So nice that you are finding all the positives during lockdown.

@happypat -- right? Yes, hope.

Such a beautiful and delicate little fuchsia so pretty hanging over the wall - obviously a hardy fuchsia . Such a lovely sunny day for your walk with Harry - such a lovely way to meet and chat with people !

How lovely. I love the fuchsias and the autumn leaves!

The fuchsias look splendid...they always remind me of ballerinas.

@thistle01 Ha ha we are too warm Joyce! Not used to this gas central heating & same temperature the same all over the house!

@sarah19 A good day for tidying up....our new garden is wild!!

@sdutoit @bkbinthecity They’re pretty aren’t they...like the lighter colour!

@dide We do try although I’m not happy at all with this lockdown! I could really rant about the unfairness of the rules...it’s just ridiculous ! There are just three places closed in the village, the hairdresser, the beauty salon & the clothes shop. The clothes shop only ever gets one person at a time in...the hairdresser has spent £3000 making thins safe..ditto the salon yet the veggie shop hasn’t even bothered to out a plastic shield up! Rest if shops open as normal!
Rant over!

@busylady Always Judith, you can look at scenery every day but to chat to people is wonderful....we saw so much today from a large garden & a chap planting new hedge to a new extension behind an ordinary bungalow ...etc etc!

@s4sayer Yes me too Margo....I love the paler ones!
November 7th, 2020
@jamibann it was a very pretty corner just down the road from us!
November 7th, 2020
@beryl That’s the great thing about walking...meeting people unlike being in a car....you will be the same on your scooter I imagine!

I saw the radiators in your previous picture and wondered about the central heating! Radiators are my favourite source of heating but seldom found in NZ. Good that you can talk to people still even if they are 2 metres away!

Lovely fuchsias (having a last gasp!)
November 7th, 2020
@maggiemae Yes we have turned down the radiators, completely off in the bedroom but it’s lovely having house all same temperature!
We always keep,our distance!!

Lovely to see the fuschia still flowering. Winter is the best time to start clearing the garden. I am sure you will have it shipshape in no time and ready for Spring.

Is Ormerod House the name of your property or does that belong to the house next door?

A lovely scene. Fuschias growing wild, that is so amazing to me. We are just living through the virus, so many people have it now but it’s very mild, really just like having the flu.
November 8th, 2020
Lovely fuchsia! It sounds like you’re taking this lock down cheerfully!
November 8th, 2020
Nice flowers and setting! Hopefully people are taking it seriously - I think the majority are!

Those really are hardy and doing well then! Love fuschias. Those are a super colour.

Love reading your 3 positives of the day ☺️👍

That's a lovely fuchsia ... nice capture.

Very pretty and I like the colours of the flowers. Here too people are taking Covid19 much lighter than the first surge even though number of infections and deaths from the virus have increased drastically.
