Walking the line! by happypat

Walking the line!

Yesterday’s dog walk with Connie.
You can see her there in her high viz jacket, so glad she had that on as I had to watch her all the time.
It was Ok further back but just after I took this photo I had to put her on the lead, I was so frightened of her getting near the waters edge & getting carried away by the current...she would have gone all the way out to Fleetwood!
The main water in the middle is normally a little brook that feeds into the River Wyre a bit further behind us.

Three good things:
1. I’ve had my Covid jab, it was the Oxford-AstraZeneca one made in Cambridge & only costs the government £3 per shot!
2. The sun came out but the roads were still flooded this morning.
3. We had a big shop....you shouldn’t do any food shopping when you’re hungry but the shops were really quiet & car park practically empty so good timing.
Wow great shot. I can see why you put Connie back on her lead. The sky still looks full of it. I didn’t know we had to pay for our injections.

@tinley23 oh we don’t Lesley I was just comparing...all free of course! When I read it back it does give that impression....just comparing with the Pfizer one Harry had which cost £17 each I think....it’s good to have a home grown one that’s good value.

I can understand you being concerned about Connie. I like the grasses alongside the swollen brook. No I didn't know we had to pay for our jabs either! Some of our friends have their appointments now but we're still waiting.
January 21st, 2021
@busylady No pay Judith...my wording is wrong! Sorry! Have altered the words!
January 21st, 2021
water is very high
January 21st, 2021
That’s a great shot but I understand your concern about Connie, I would have been just the same.
I’m so pleased to hear you’ve had your covid jab. A 93 year old neighbour of mine had hers yesterday so I’m not expecting to have mine for some time yet being a mere 71. I shall just stay home, stay safe and be patient.
January 21st, 2021
Oh wow - that is a bit nerve wracking. Good news on the jab and it likes a decent gap between doses! Dad gets his first one tomorrow (not sure which one) and the following one in April - seems like a long time away but hopefully by then cases will have dropped enough that he can get proper freedom from having it. He’s under instruction to remain cautious till then!

@judithg I haven’t had any reaction although my heart seemed to beat a bit faster while I was sitting in the car afterwards. My brother said it would be apprehension but I wasn’t worried one bit. I haven’t heard that as a reaction...I feel alright but might have an early night!
January 21st, 2021
You’re in my one of my brothers bracket...he’s really looking forward to having his as they are in the middle of big house move. Your turn will come! Some 70 to 75 year olds getting their appointments now fir next week.
January 21st, 2021
@denful Scarily high...one I got on that route it was easier just to keep going, quite safe but Connie better on the lead!
January 21st, 2021
Ooh wow .! I would have Connie on the. lead too ! Good news re having your covid jab, mine I booked for Feb 5th and I hope it will be the Oxford which I think is recommended for those with allergies .
January 21st, 2021
@happypat I quite like a bit of reaction myself- just a small one!
January 21st, 2021
Hope the water doesn't rise any further
January 21st, 2021
@judithg Just had a message off my friend who also had her jab this morning, she has had same reaction so I feel much better now knowing I’m not on my own.
January 21st, 2021
@beryl Yes it seems good for anyone with any allergies Beryl....so glad you’re soon.
January 21st, 2021
Gosh that does look quite a dangerous place to,walk with such high waters. You should buy her a little life jacket!
Glad you have had your vaccine, the Astra Zeneca one apparently doesn’t need post vaccine observation unlike the Pfizer so I personally would prefer the one you had. I once had A rapid heartbeat after a flu vaccine Interesringly.
January 21st, 2021
wow - lots like a lot of rain came your way
January 21st, 2021
@lucycameron That’s interesting Lucy.....I’m so glad I’m not on my own. I wasn’t really worried but I was surprised. Connie has been on very high ground today up Bacon Fell.

Bep
Great capture of the flooding.
Glad to read you had your covid jab. We have to wait a couple of weeks, I'm afraid.
January 21st, 2021
Such pleasing curves in this shot. Glad you got Connie on a leash, those waters look very roiling. I am hoping to get a jab, but am only 63 and the doses are dwindling in New York State. I have a trip to Cornwall planned for September, but it is looking less and less hopeful to go. Sigh.
January 21st, 2021
@bkp Oh you’re very young yet for the jab Barbara... your turn will come soon!
January 21st, 2021
@gijsje Won’t be long then Bep, worth waiting for...hope we can all get back to normal but will take a while yet.
January 21st, 2021
Great shot of murky weather...and so rewarding to go home to warmth and comfort...for you both ;-)
January 21st, 2021
Very nice shot
January 21st, 2021
I'm so glad that Connie safely maneuvered her walk. It looks like the water is a bit treacherous after all of your rain. And I'm so thrilled that you've had your first vaccine dose. Pat!! You're already on your way to producing protective antibodies!
January 21st, 2021
@peggysirk He’s I’m pleased Peggy...it’s out home grown one, Harry had the Pfizer one but I had the AstraZenica.
January 21st, 2021
@s4sayer You’re so right Margo....vital in these damp days but we are lucky on a hill.
January 21st, 2021
@bkbinthecity Thank you.
January 21st, 2021
Crikey it looks quite soggy. No wonder you put Connie back on her lead.
Don't know when we will be getting the vaccine. No community cases in Australia at the moment though so no need to rush. The situation changes so quickly though.

David came grocery shopping with me last week. Glad it doesn't happen too often it cost me $200. He buys all the 'interesting' things I don't buy or eat like sausage, cheese, chocolate, biscuits, ice cream, iced coffee. Next time I go shopping I will have to hide his shoes so he can't come with me, ha ha.

January 21st, 2021
I know Connie loved her walk. I’m glad you had your vaccination!
January 21st, 2021
Looks more like a rice field in China then in England
January 22nd, 2021
I've been hearing about the flooding from Kerry too! She lives in Didsbury, Manchester and some houses there were evacuated!
January 22nd, 2021
Oh my the water is high! I would worry about my dog taking one wrong step to smell something and falling in! So glad to hear you got your 1st vaccine shot!
January 22nd, 2021
Lovely shot. You would have to watch the little dog carefully! I never let dad's dog off the lead when walking him - too nervous that he'd run away after a rabbit or something! Connie seems much better behaved! :-)
January 22nd, 2021
Nice shot Pat, leading lines to a big sky. You should give it a try in monochrome. It would bring out the grim mood even more!
January 22nd, 2021
So much water! You doing okay after the jab?
January 22nd, 2021
Lovely leading lines. And SO much water!
January 22nd, 2021
@casablanca Had a few reactions but nothing I wasn’t prepared for. My friend is the same but two others that had it yesterday had no reactions at all. I’m thinking it’s sign that I might have had Coronovirus badly if I was unfortunate enough to catch it.
January 22nd, 2021
@maggiemae Yes Didsbury badly affected, hope Kerry’s property safe.
January 22nd, 2021
@imagepunk Thank you, I never thought if that..ha ha it would be grim indeed!
January 22nd, 2021
@jamibann I’m ok with her going loose in places she knows Issi but it is a bit of a responsibility I must say. She knows these fields well & does about six times as many steps as we do.
January 22nd, 2021
@onewing David sounds just like Harry...he loves shopping & is so slow going round the aisles...he checks everything!
January 22nd, 2021
@louannwarren @loweygrace @kwiksilver

Glad vaccine is done too....your turn will come!
January 22nd, 2021
Nice to know about the vaccine. We should be called to take it next month. Puts your mind more at rest when you need to go out. Beautiful capture. The brook looks more like a river.
January 22nd, 2021
Poor you! It does look like a lot of water.
January 22nd, 2021
Amazing water levels. Glad you have gotten your first shot! We are still waiting on ours here.
January 22nd, 2021
Goodness, that's a lot of water. Glad no houses were flooded. My daughter sent me a snapchat with the sound of the rain on her roof, which had woken her up in the middle of the night it was so loud.
January 23rd, 2021
Glad you got your shot 💪
January 23rd, 2021
Wow, that's looking watery....
