Our usual route on our walk takes us along a narrow single track lane past the farm that is farmed by some of our family. Outside our nieces we saw this little refreshment cart...isn’t it neat?
This lane has become the walking motorway of lockdown so definitely making the most of the footfall.
Three good things:
1. Another beautiful day, sunshine & a crisp air.
2. The gritting machine was out.
3. I found out that there is WiFi in the rental house we are moving to shortly...I was relieved!
Beautiful photo and that's an irresistible piece of kit. I think everyone might fancy pausing for a warm drink here.
When do you move to your temporary place I wonder and will it be for a while? Anyway another stage in the journey. 😄
A lovely little cart and scenery.Fav😊.A gritting machine, such luxury.Hardly see them on many of our roads. Our council spends millions building themselves a brand new building, which they can't afford...so they sell it, then lease it back.No wonder they went bankrupt!!
@sarah19 Well we have it from 1st February for four months Sallie...we can start moving anything we want to take with us but must take some stuff to the container very soon. We want to be ready when the builders come.
@lucycameron Yes we have quite a few little outside boxes around selling eggs, milk, turkeys etc but none as cute as this one! Might be fun Lucy, you could sell your spare eggs! The honesty box does get some abuse sometimes though I’ve heard...not with this one as it’s new but people do take stuff & don’t pay.
This shot takes me back to when l was about 10 years old and we lived in the Isle of Man. My father was the Mayor of our town and he and Mum had been invited to spend the w/e in Cumbria as guests of a Mayor there. Amelia, a friend of the family who lived with us took charge.
It must have been summer and I remember Michael, my younger brother, and l decided to sell some old toys, books etc. & fruit and veg from the garden. Neighbours passed going to or returning from shopping, placing their orders and collecting them in due course. Amelia was horrified...and stayed indoors whilst we honed our skills with neighbours and passers by! We even delivered the goodies to the neighbours who were already burdened on their way home.
Suffice to say that Michael and l were thrilled to bits with our stint of ‘enterprise’.
Mum and Dad returned the following day and were bemused and amused by our youthful enthusiasm and enterprise! They told our Parish Priest who asked if we'd do another for the Church...and we did! Fond memories ;-)
@s4sayer well good on you & Michael! I can imagine the feeling of success you both had! Strange how we all loved playing shops when we were kids but you did it for real! Amelia sounds a bit of a bore!
Well done on the money raising too...
What a lovely idea!
My sister-in-law's friend made literally boxes of jars of marmalade for the church bazaar which of course didn't happen. I asked would a stall and honesty box work? She replied she suspected not as they have had 2 cars stolen off their drive in the last couple of years....!!

Thank goodness for WiFi...we can't live without it anymore. :)
