The village pinfold where cattle, sheep & pigs were kept if they strayed.... thus is a grade 2 listed building.
As you can see there is a new road being built along side it. All the red brick rubble you might be able to see was an small building attached to the pinfold. They knocked that down last week to make way through for more houses. Trees chopped down & that lovely old building gone.
We walked past today as this is all happening at the end of the lane where we are living at the moment & there is a man working in the pinfold.
Turns out he’s clearing it if rubbish, putting gravel down & there will be a bench in there to sit on..I think it will be rather nice & all hats off to the building company fir doing that.
Limited posting at the moment as the WiFi is not working still so having to do all 365 work on my phone which is not ideal so please bear with me over the next few weeks!
@busylady Yes Judith but we are only half a mile from hone so much the same. I can’t really see the detail in this picture, not the same as seeing it on my iPad!
Interesting story. I hope they keep some trees. What I usually hate about new housing developments is the lack of mature trees. Really makes a difference to a place.
I imagine it's been a while since any wayward livestock spent time in that pinfold. Looks like the area has seen a lot of development. Would love to get a cartload of those old bricks to use in my garden.
Too bad about your WiFi!
