Harry & I went to the kitchen shop today & on the way back called in at Daisy Clough Garden Centre for a coffee & toasted teacake each. This garden centre is very well placed as the large outdoor space is under the roof of a very large greenhouse area....it’s really come into its own just now. They took the sides down when they set the space up so the perfect healthy eating place.
The larger more established Barn at Scorton has no outside eating space as far I remember.
Such a treat to sit in the sun as we used to do.
Three good things:
1. Interesting looking at kitchens & choosing what we like.
2. Such a warm day.....very summery.
3. Because the weather is so settled there is no need to cover up the block work the builders are doing...saves so much time & energy!
Sounds good, Pat. We went to the garden centre as well today but there was nothing to eat or drink. But Ray bought summer bedding plants so not a wasted trip.
What a lovely area to sit and have a bite to eat - just like a picnic site - but covered over in case of rain ! I must make an attempt to go out to a garden centre one of these days - Shall go for my 2nd covid jab tomorrow !
What an awesome idea to have a coffee shop in a garden center! I’ve never seen one but can only imagine it would be so nice to have a treat while looking at plants and trees!
Lovely image of your coffee shop stop! Glad the weather is settled for your work. Our builders never covered up a thing ... I'll never forget a visit when everything was soaking wet in December. And my worry about not having the roof sealed by Christmas .... despite them starting the work in Spring ... I still cringe when I think about all that. 18 months to do what was supposed to take 8 months. However, it all turned out ok, but was far from stress free for me!
@loweygrace Almost all Garden Centres has coffee shops & restaurants in the UK Lois. Lovely ones too where you can have a full meal or tea or just a coffee & cake. That’s where they get the most customers....I think we expect it!
I have a similar set up on a small scale (made from small poly tunnels) for the tortoises who have emerged from hibernation but not warm enough to entice them to eat. You see it worked for you too - the warmth of the sun made you hungry for a tea cake!
