This afternoon we went to have a research trip to Curry’s.
Jack came with us as he’s done lots of research for us on the different makes & models.
It was very interesting & loads of stuff to see.
Afterwards Jack wanted a Coke from MacDonalds so I did a drive thru for the first time in my life!
Jack was sitting in the back & took this photo.
Three good things:
1. Hand sanitiser after touching different machines! I never thought of the very slight risk until Jack said.
2. Digging drains at the bungalow.
3. The passing dogs are making use if the bowl of water I put down outside the gate.
Ha ha ! -- I love @julzmaioro comment - you must explain that Curry's do not sell curries ! I have only done a drive through at Mc Donald's with Gary by my side !! I always seem too short at the service hatch !!
Jack would have been laughing about teaching his grandparents a new trick! You are fortunate he is back in England and loves to hang out with you. I’m waiting to hear more about Currys too.

Curry’s is a very large electrical supermarket that sells everything you could ever need in the home. We did think of going to various if different places but just when for a reccy to Curry’s. To be honest they do great value, price match & knock money off for every third purchase so think we will probably stick with them. Jack has been our research expert & we can ask him to order online when the time comes. We need lots, oven, hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, dryer, warming drawer, built in microwave & dishwasher!
Say it fast & it’s not so bad. We’re going low end cost except for oven & hob. Hope that explains a bit!

I think one of our choices is Samsung, ah yes the washing machine! I have a list here that Jack did with names, prices, reviews & where the Best Buy is.
I just found Curry's on the internet so didn't expect food dishes. Good to have comparisons. I love the McDonald's thick shakes and if I have a sensitive stomach, that's all I would want to have!
@happypat very happy with my Samsung washer once we’d turned to sound off - every appliance has to tell you it’s finished now though apparently a lot of people like the tune!
@judithg There was one model, I can’t remember which that shone a light on the floor, I thought that was ingenious. I read about that one while swotting up on specifications!
@jamibann It was quite an experience what with masks & gestures from the paying hatch I couldn’t work out why he was waving his hands at me.....meant move along to the card payer! 😳
My dishwasher (Bosch) shines a red light on the floor while it is running. And during the height of the pandemic, my daughter’s gas range died, and we ordered a new one from Amazon Prime (free delivery...and she has nineteen steps up from the curb to her front door). I think the use of drive-thrus in the States enables some of our bad lazy eating habits!
@bkp The light sounds good, one of the dishwashers opened the door when finished....I dint think the one we have picked does that but will check.
Oh great just checked the specifications & it projects a red light in the floor when finished! I’m pleased at that!
