There was a wooden snake for years on Beacon Fell but over the years it went rotten & eventually they removed it.
A local Preston school raised over £42000 & together with a grant & other donations this new stone snake was commissioned.
It’s much longer than it looks here & it weaves through walls & is very realistic.
Connie bobbed about in between the trees & snakes body.
Three good things:
1. A reasonably early walk with Connie before it got too hot.
2. It’s amazing who you find to chat to up there….others with dogs are always ready to chat.
3. We have bought a wood burner.
An amazing structure, I bet the children love playing with it too. Hot, hot? What's this about hot weather? It's been overcast and not too warm here all day!
What a fantastic project…I would love to walk on it! Hot here, too…early and late walks with the dog, but he sees when it is the last bit of shade and plops down and refuses to continue.
Very cool and slightly creepy. This reminds me of Nagini...the snake in Harry Potter.
Getting outside activities taken care of early is a necessity here, otherwise the heat and humidity will have you looking, and feeling, totally wilted.

Only 16°C here...
Good to have cool spaces for walks on hot days.
