A lovely gift of these yellow roses from my luncheon friends yesterday.
I don’t often buy yellow flowers but they are a lovely change of colour.
Three good things:
1. I have advertised a rather nice oak balloon back nursing chair on our local Sales & Wants page. Was pleased when someone asked if it was still available but on my guard when they wanted to send me money by APPs & then have the package she called it collected! I’m on the ball & declined as of a course she would need my bank details….no thank you Wilma!!
2. A sorting out day.
3. I am starting a new book tonight by Kristen Hannah called The Four Winds. It looks rather good & great reviews!
Lovely. I finished reading I Am Pilgrim. What a different genre from what I normally read but I couldn’t put it down. Probably the only thriller I have/will ever read!
They are gorgeous - always remind me of the "Yellow rose of Texas" - I remember my dad bringing home the record having been to the Autumn fair ( mid 50's !) that record was played til it was thread bare !!! Good thing that you were on your guard re : no 1 !!

How hard it is to know there is such fraud about. We have lost a not inconsiderable amount of money from a credit card account to fraud, the credit card providers are being useless (M&S) and we are having trouble reclaiming our money. How it happened we have no idea.
First thing this shot brought to my mind was the song 'The yellow rose of Texas'. They are very beautiful flowers but I prefer to see them on the bush than in a vase. In fact I never cut mine.
Lovely yellow roses. A good autumn color. I enjoyed The Four Winds...I like all of Kristin Hannah's novels. And good for you for not following through with the payment scam. It just galls me how people think nothing of stealing from others.
@quietpurplehaze It’s terrible Hazel…why no one can stop them I have no idea….so many clever people about but no brains to come up with solutions! We have an M&S credit card too but we only use it for booking flights….will be wary, I thought they would have been better than anyone, seems all the same when it comes to paying money back!

Funnily enough somebody used our card to book £300 worth of flights - on a Russian airline!!!!!!! Well not funny but you get my drift!
