Our lovely view fron The View cafe at Long Sands beach Tynemouth.
I had maple syrup pancakes & crispy bacon.
Tynemouth was a great surprise I must say. I have been on that coastline many times in my youth but I never remembered visiting this charming town only for a funeral last year when we never went into the town.
Quaint shops, lovely period houses & a real village feel.
I really like it too because I am not a lover of the sea & the level of the water was way below cliffs so not as threatening.
No special good things today as I haven’t been anywhere & enjoyed a lazy day. The highlight was a visit from Cathy after her hair appointment.
Oh I did do quite a bit of ringing up friends this morning catching up!
What a view - love the swirling sky in its graduated shades of blue , in contrast to the textured pebbly sand in the foreground - Nice to have a day to relax after coming home !
Pat, I understand having a healthy respect for the sea. Since moving to the coast I have learned of many sea dangers that I didn’t know of growing up in Yellowstone. But I am a sea lover and your photo is very happy and peaceful to my eyes.
@pandorasecho I liked this peaceful scene too Dixie….it was so different from our west coast where the sea is almost ground level so to speak & you look towards the horizon & it looks higher that where you’re standing….a trick of the eye I know but disconcerting for a sea disliker. I blame my grandparents taking me to see a film about the Pilgrim Fathers sailing to the USA & a massive storm at sea….I have never forgotten it!
I love the sky and the sea colours almost merging. I have fav'd it but would like the horizon to be a wee bit straighter! Nice to see the tiny people - gives an atmosphere and shows how big the scene is!
@maggiemae Ooh I had to look again maggie…I didn’t realise it was a bit crooked but you’re right it is off key slightly….I went more by the sea shore I think which wasn’t right, think it was because of the similar blues of sky & sea. Now I notice it I can’t not see it!!
I love the layers and textures in this image. So glad you enjoyed Tynemouth. I come from up there but have never really explored Tynemouth. This makes me want to go!
Sounds like you've had a perfectly delightful day, Pat!
Thank you all….I loved it was so peaceful….I don’t mind the sea when it looks like this ha ha,
