Bonfire night by happypat

Bonfire night

A rubbish firework shot but it’s a diary shot so never mind!
My iPhone takes rubbish night time photos but with all the fireworks going off around us I couldn’t ignore them.

Three good things!
1. It’s a lovely dry night for all the revellers!
2. With all the financial woes in the world it’s good we can still spend money on fireworks, I really thought there wouldn’t be as many this year! We have enjoyed the neighbours without spending any money!
3. Watching the World Champion Gymnastics this afternoon.
Well I think it's a lovely shot, maybe just a little crop and putting it in the left third of the picture? We have no fireworks around us so quite disappointing really

I was ready to take photos of the fireworks too and took two then the camera battery went phut. By the time I got my other camera out, the fireworks had finished. It was a public event that lots of people enjoyed.

Well at least there is colour contrasting with the dark sky. We were going to go to a firework display,, but it was raining & the grass where it was going to be , after quite a lot of rain was going to be a quagmire, so opted to stay in the warm - we had also had our flu jabs today, so I think we made the right decision.

Not a celebration here thank Heaven. Fireworks here always trigger bushfires if people set them off in their gardens. Luckily, we only have controlled fireworks here these days, usually at New Year. We have had the occasional visitors though who have set off fireworks and started bushfires.

it's difficult to do fireworks with a smart phone Pat, although you could up the ISO see what that does

Ooh it's been very damp here, lots of whizz bangs going on though.

I watched our local fireworks on Friday evening from the comfort of my bedroom window! I took some photos too, but unless you're well set-up and ready for it, they tend not to be great shots. However, it's recording the moment that matters sometimes, more than the quality of the capture. :-)

@happypat You would have caught the fireworks perfectly I’m sure Phil….some cameras are amazing at such things!

@boxplayer Yes I expect your part of the world really had a great night….even after all these years fire works do give a buzz but only bonfire night for some reason. They let them off on New Years Eve where we celebrated last year but it wasn’t the same!
Only missing a good bonfire too….treacle toffee etc etc!
@jamibann Best place to watch from upstairs but no upstairs here now! 🤣🤣🤣

Last night was bonfire night at my son's house but he didn't have fireworks. Fireworks is a good idea.

Still a lovely try. It not easy to capture fireworks unless you have a good camera.

I spent the evening trying to calm my boys down! Why do they have such loud bangs and huge fireworks in gardens! I hate this time of year!
