This little brook can either be a roaring small river up to the top of the banks or a small trickle in the summer.
It empties into the river Wyre & was the boundary for our dairy farm. As it’s tidal it ebbed & floes with the tide. I took this photo on our walk with Connie yesterday. The high grassy bank goes all the way round to the Cartford Inn then back up the road to our house. It’s a very nice circular walk used by many people & Connie makes the most of it running all over the place.
I tried to get her in the photo but as she’s always in front never behind I missed!
Three good things:
1. Toasted tea cake & a lot of tea for two in Booths.
2. Pictures of the amazing covered hen coop my brother & his son in law have made for their hens. I don’t think they will mind too much staying under cover because of bird flu.
3. Geese flying in….love the sound & sight of these winter arrivals.
@maggiemae I guess you’re right maggie, it’s winter coming & all things turn to comfort! I think I have only heard Brook used in this country you’re right!
@kgolab@sangwann I have to watch her when the brook is running fast…always frightened of her being swept away but she’s a bit nervous of water thankfully.
