We get regular update photos of our great granddaughter Nina.
This one popped up this morning.
Nina lives on a farm at the foot of the Southern Alps in South Island New Zealand.
She’s always busy & really loving farm life!
Our eldest son & daughter in law live thirty minutes away so see her often but we haven’t met her yet.
Ooh! such a cheery little button! -- Reminds me "the hills are alive with the sound of music"! A wonderful shot with a wonderful background scenery! fav
Adorable smile and the teetering steps of the very young are obvious.
I wonder about Nicola - was the dog wet when they found it? She might have jumped in to save it if it was floundering in the river?
@maggiemae Can’t say much on FB maggie there are so many speculations & it’s hard to imagine any feasible answer but I think she might possibly have gone to rescue the dog although it wasn’t wet I have read! They say it’s a very remote place but although it’s quiet the busy road to Blackpool runs over the river bridge & the school very close! It would be very hard to abduct anyone without someone seeing.
The river is tidal & quite full at the moment! It’s hard to imagine what her family are going through.
There is a lot of activity of all kinds.
@onewing lots of speculation Babs but I fear a bad accident….if you knew the area it would be almost impossible for a member if the public just to randomly abduct her. Just dropped her girls off at school a very regular walk with her dog past the church. The river bank is steep & quite deep at that point. Praying she is found soon. The road over the bridge is quite high so you can see over down the river path….bust too!
So sad about that lady, Nikki. Hadn't realised that was close to you. It would be lovely to think she might be found alive, but it's sounding less and less likely. So very sad.
During our most recent floods in November, a lady, Hazel, was washed away in the river Don. Her little dog was found, but her body has never been found. Absolutely tragic for the family.
That is so heartbreaking, no closure! It’s natural for you to go in water after your dog but the dogs nearly always survive. My big worry when we walk by this very river, we are the next village along …. Keeping an eye on Connie especially when the tide is up.
She is darling and looks so happy. Aren’t we thankful we can have family photos pop up on our computers and phones and iPads? . Sorry to hear of the lady who is missing, I read they found her phone on a bench by the river still connected to a conference call. It surely seems she must have jumped in the river to save her dog. I’m so sorry for her family.
Very cute and lively wee girl! We also have family in the Sth Island, in Christchurch (a niece), Ashburton (daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren) and my brother and his family are on a farm near Fairlie, inland from Timaru. Whereabouts are yours?
@chikadnz My son & daughter in law have just moved to Tinwald Ashburton & Alex, Simon & Nina live at Klondike Terrace near Mayfield. We have been to Fairlie & stopped for a coffee on the way through MacKenzie country to Lake Tekapo. We stayed at a farm stay in Geraldine, the only place with central heating, it was so welcome! A good few years ago now!
Might be next year now but I will get there some day soon!

I hope they find that young wiman soon. I was wondering the same as @maggiemae

Pity the missing lady hasn't been found yet, all sounds very mysterious doesn't it.
