You will have seen the posts I have put up over the last three or four months about my friends small grandson. He has spent the last three months in Manchester Children's Hospital having treatment & an operation to try & remove the tumour in his brain stem.
Two weeks ago the doctors gave him only a few weeks to live.
His plight went onto the country website & two neurological surgeons from Alder Hey hospital picked it up. They decided Charlie was worth a second chance,
Yesterday they operated for thirteen hours & we heard last night they have managed to remove all of the tumour.
After everybodies prayers & good wishes he has a chance at last. Long way to go, they aren't sure if there has been much damage & a possibility of proton beam therapy in Germany but everybody is so happy for them all.
All of you that sent good wishes & donated money a hundred thank yous from John, Nici, Jack, Charlie, Harry & my friend Dot.
Sounds like good news for a little soldier. There are some wonderful people in our world. Hope your little man is soon back fit and well with his family
@beryl Thank you Beryl....all looking so much more hopeful now. It was an aggressive rumour so you can never tell but hopefully he will get stronger & they might go ahead with proton beam to be sure.
@maggiemae Yes you are right, not out of the woods yet. They did warn Nici & John that he might be paralysed down one side but after tests of reflex in the night they are encouraged. He is sleeping most of the time so too early to tell. Whatever results of surgery they can cope with, he's very young & can adapt.
Hi Pat,my family sends continued prayers and hope Charlie gets through all of this.
Kids are so resilience and are the bravest.
Good luck for future treatment and strength to all.
Best wishes & big hugs.xxx
