Paddling Along With Mum & Dad ~ by happysnaps

Paddling Along With Mum & Dad ~

Eight days old & can they move.
I like how I can see their little web feet pumping hard.
A delight to see three cygnets healthy & growing fast.

Very nice family shot. Weren’t there 5 eggs?

@shutterbug49 Yes there were 5 eggs but, two were abandoned, I guess they weren't fertilised as they sat for 2 more days after the 3 hatched. Aren't they just so lovely. 😄

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thanks Jackie...It takes a year & more for the feathers to turn black. A link to last years cygnet will show you.. https://media.365project.org/1/8130816_gostwx0236_o.jpg

@happysnaps is this the swan family with the precarious nest site? I’m so glad the eggs hatched.

@happysnaps They are lovely and 3 is plenty to care for.
October 18th, 2021
@louannwarren Thank you Lou Ann & yes this is the same family. Three eggs hatched & mum sat another two days then they all left & the nest quickly disappeared. I guess the last two eggs were not fertilised?
