This is the Stanley Hotel in Estes, Colorado built in1909 just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. The hotel is known for its architecture, beautiful setting, famous visitors, and for being the inspiration for Stephen King's novel, "The Shining." It has been featured as one of America's most haunted hotels with many stories by visitors and staff. We have walked around the hotel before, but my daughter had never seen it. We had never toured it so decided to do the tour. It was very fun and interesting. My daughter, Annie, was so excited!! At the end, she couldn't believe that she didn't see a ghost. We teased her that she needed to wait and look at her photos....BOOO! ;)!
It's a handsome building, and all those flags in a row give it a regal look. I've been on ghost tours, and they say that "orbs" on the photos are the ghosts. This used to be caused by film in cameras. I don't know how they explain things now that it's digital.
Great story I can't sleep at night if I read about or see ghost stories, horror
Stories etc. Ive too active a mind so I hadn't heard of this hotel before though I've just about heard of The Shining. It looks too nice an hotel to have anything nasty associated with it
