Herd of Yaks by harbie

Herd of Yaks

Just down the road from yesterday's photo is where we usually see the buffalo, but this day we saw a herd of yaks. I know they have many uses in different parts of the world (milk, fiber, meat, beasts of burden, and their dung for fuel}, but I am not quite sure their use here. The males have large horns while the female's horns are smaller. I like them though. They are really pretty. Thanks so much for your views and comments on yesterday's photo!
How cool. Great capture

Interesting herd.

And the punch line is: Yes, I've heard of Yaks.

I'm glad you were able to take a pic as I was intrigued with their mention yesterday. Are they native?

Didn't know there were herds of yak in that area - knew about the buffalo. Pretty neat find.
