Stumps of All Sizes by harbie

Stumps of All Sizes

On our hike, we came across all of these stumps. I thought it was an interesting group of different sizes and heights. I think these trees were probably cut down by the Forest Service because in the last few years there has been a pine beetle infestation which has killed many of the pine trees in the area. It is a beetle that is from this region and is a natural occurrence, but it is still difficult to see so many trees die. It is also amazing though how fast new trees take over. Thank you so much for your kind comments, views, and favs on yesterday's photo. I really appreciate it.
this is a nice contrasting picture Fav

That was a lot of good sized trees they took - does make sense about the pine beetles though - made for a good shot from your perspective. Like this

What a terrific image, but sad to think so many big trees are no longer.

This makes me think of a theater. Sad to see the trees go - always. I hate those pine beetles.
