Taos Pueblo by harbie

Taos Pueblo

We visited Taos, New Mexico this past weekend. This photo is of Taos Pueblo. There are still Native Anerican families that live in the Pueblo year round. Most live here part of the time and have houses elsewhere. There is no electricity or running water. Houses are passed down in families. They are made of adobe. Thank you for viewing.
These are all mud houses? Great capture!! Did you go inside the houses?

Nicely shot. I've been to Taos several times, mainly for a bike ride, but we have never really toured the area.

@777margo They are made of mud/clay. We were able to go inside of one. One family had their house open. It was small but very nice and comfortable looking. There were 2 fireplaces.

We drove through Taos on our way out of New Mexico. It was too late in the day for us to enter Taos Pueblo but I checked it out online and learned a lot about this National Historic Landmark. I would have loved to have actually been able to take a tour.
