National Pride by harvey

National Pride

We spent Friday the 25th exploring Krakow (without rain today!). It happened to be the last day of school for kids in Poland, and there were several dance troups with young kids performing different traditional styles of dance in the main square with great traditional dresses. This was the Polish dance troup, and this girl had the job of holding the flag while everyone else dancing and playing music was the center of attention. I squatted down to her level to get this shot and she looked my way and gave me that half-smile. I got some great shots of kids dancing in the nice outfits, but I just love this shot, so it was the pic of the day.

Unrelated to this shot, the 25th was my 5 year Anniversary to my wonderful wife Anne. The five years have flown by but every day is an adventure and although I would have thought it impossible at the time, we are more in love today than when we married five year ago. I hope we can keep it up for many more years!

Also I'm submitting this for the nationalpride theme, as I didn't get a chance to look at my Krakow photos until today.
Great shot! I love the girl's expression! And Happy Anniversary!
